“Great location”
Reviewed 27 July 2016 for a stay in July 2016

The apartment is right in the centre of Lucca so ideal for seeing the city. The views from all the windows and the terrace are fabulous. Comfy beds, clean linen and towels, flat clean.
We found it very warm in the flat and using the fans and opening windows helped a little but made it very noisy. The street noise did carry but we stayed at a very busy time of year. It was lovely to wake to the sound of church bells.
Arrangements for collecting keys etc were easy and Dagmar was helpful to us with our travel
difficulties.

“a superb apartment with panoramic views”
Reviewed 3 June 2016 for a stay in May 2016

This apartment exceeded our expectations. It has been beautifully developed and furnished in the roof of a tall mediaeval tower in the heart of the city so there are panoramic views from the terrace and from all the windows. It is well equipped and furnished with attractive furniture, textiles and ornaments with a southeast asian feel. The books and paintings (some by the owner's mother) make the place unusual and interesting. Dagmar was very helpful over arrangements for our arrival and we appreciated gifts of the olive oil and prosecco. The location is perfect for visiting all parts of this beautiful city. The estimated 100 steps up to the flat are a challenge but definitely worth it.

“Panoramic views of Lucca repay the effort”
Reviewed 17 April 2016 for a stay in April 2016

We were a family of three with a 9 year old. We loved the views from every side and the roof terrace - but the vast number of stairs to climb every time you want to nip home are a real consideration for some people. Felt the flat needed updating - furniture adequate but faded and not very comfy, DVD player doesn't work, and the hairdryer conked out on our last day - and the owner not helpful when we phoned to point out DVD problem and the fact that we wanted to use both single beds in the main room and needed more bedding. We also put up with very short supply of hot water - never enough for any sort of bath, and only very short sharp shower sitting in the bath was possible. We didn't bother ringing the owner about that as she hadn't been helpful or even very interested on our first call. However, the flat was clean and it's a lovely place. A memorable holiday in a lovely location

Dear Clare,
Thank you for your review, it is always interesting to have feedback from our clients. Perhaps you didn't realise it but the owner, which you think wasn't that helpful, had been personally waiting for your arrival (many owners delegate this thing and do not bother to show up), had a helper helping you carrying your luggage up to the fifth floor (as advertised the flat is located on the top floor with no lift, but the help of someone carrying luggage is a plus done for free, not advertised) and also left you a bottle of wine for you and a juice for your daughter as a gift, not something included in the price. I am surprised that you didn't find our furniture comfy, the sofas we have are actually from the Roche Bobois, renowned to be an extremely comfortable and elegant brand. Also, not sure you noticed it, but the flat presents pieces of antique furniture (perhaps not your taste but certainly valuable pieces which one wouldn't replace easily, seen their value). With regards to bedding we always ask in advance who the guests will be in order to make the right amount and size of beds. In this case there was a couple with a daughter so one double bed and a single one were ready for you. Sadly we are not a hotel in which we can change sheets every day. Also, for the low price that we charge, it shouldn't be a big deal if the shower is not as powerful as it is in a 5 stars hotel. Not sure about the DVD, it has always been working properly, so perhaps it was just a matter of plugging the right cable in the right spot, which I'm sorry if it wasn't already sorted out. However I am happy that you still had a memorable holiday and appreciated that the flat was clean and in a lovely place. Of course I will take into account all your comments and I appreciate your input, surely the flat will be always improving thanks to our customers' reviews. If you decide to visit Lucca another time, we hope to see you again and send you our best wishes meantime.

What a lovely appartment. The views make up for the many steps to the appartment. Would love to go back again. Plenty of space for myself, husband and daughter. Not cramped. Was nice to have such terrific views from all sides. Located in the main area of Lucca so very close to everything.

“Ideally Located”

Although there are a lot of steps to climb to reach The Apartment it is well worth the climb, the Apartment was just as described, windows on all sides therefore very bright and airy. The balcony was a wonderful addition, private with beautiful views all around, sitting outside you could hear the musicians playing in the distance which added to the experience.
We were met at the apartment by Jane who was very friendly and helpful, Jane explained everything we needed to know about the apartment and also provided written instructions on how to use the washing machine, and a variety of recommended restaurants.
Lucca itself is a fabulous place to stay, with plenty to see and with some fantastic restaurants to dine in.
There was only one slight drawback (a minor one really), it was to do with the hot water system for showering, the water would sometimes go from hot to cold quite suddenly and you had to keep adjusting the settings, once again though there was written instructions on how to overcome this. As I said this was really only a minor inconvenience and you quickly adapted to it.
All in all my wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Apartment and would have no hesitation in recommending the Apartment and Lucca as place to holiday.

Wow, Location, Location, Location! My partner & I stayed at this fantastic apartment in the centre of Lucca for a last minute trip & boy were we happy. The apartment is beautifully furnished to the highest standard and everything you need is catered for. After a busy day sightseeing it was a pleasure to go back & relax on the patio to watch the sun go down! The town is full of amazing restaurants & the train station so close we visited several coastal resorts within 30 minutes! We are already planning our next trip! Thank you
