“A most beautiful and special place to stay”
Reviewed 14 August 2015 for a stay in August 2015

When I booked this earlier this year the reviews helped reassure me that this was a good place to stay. They did not prepare me for how overwhelmed I would be when I saw the place. It is more than an apartment, it's like staying in a piece of history. The photos cannot show you how large the entrance hall is, how high the ceilings are, how thick the walls are or how beautiful the frescos are. I thought it was separate to the main house: it isn't. The gardens are beautiful and the children loved the table tennis.
My children are 12 and 14 and they loved it here but the gardens would be fantastic for younger ones.
Donatella and Antonio are so helpful, lifts to and from the station and so much more with helpful advice, everything you need is there.
We didn't have a car, we didn't need it. Public transport is cheap and regular and air conditioned. Pisa, Lucca, Florence, the beach are all within easy reach.
If like I was, you are looking for something special, stay here.

“Lovely place, easy to travel round from & see Tuscany”

We had a fantastic two weeks staying here. The house is lovely & has been restored by the owners with amazing frescoes in the main hall & stairs. The apartment was nice & cool after sightseeing in the heat &'has wifi & a washing machine which was great.
It also has a beautiful garden which we could sit & eat out in.
The owners were very nice & gave us a lift to & from the airport & also to a large supermarket on the first day.
It was 15 mins walk to the train station & we had many day trips including Lucca,Casina,Florence, Sienna,Cinque Terre, San Maniato & Pisa. It was easy & cheap to get around by train - Pisa was only 9 mins away - so didn't need a car.

“Tuscan holiday”
Reviewed 1 July 2014 for a stay in June 2014

Unique, splendid villa, frescoes and great spaces; also comfortable and well
provided. Lovely gardens very restful.
But above all the care and attention from Donatella and Antonio made this a carefree ,
relaxing and very enjoyable holiday.

“An enchanting villa and delightful hosts”
Reviewed 10 June 2014 for a stay in June 2014

The villa is lovely -- full of history, and art, and intriguing, romantic stories. Donatella and Antonio are so very kind and helpful. From picking us up and dropping us back to the airport, to the trip to the supermarket, to the welcome bubbly and drinks, and freshly picked fruit, and mosquito repellent -- the list goes on and on! The town is surrounded by mountains and is quiet and friendly.

The bath water is therapeutic -- great after a long day's sightseeing, and the garden is lovely to relax in. Baffi the cat woke us up in the morning (perhaps sniffing breakfast!), and the bats, church bells, bird song and fireflies entertained us in the garden at night.

Donatella kindly shared the story of the villa with us and showed us all the beautiful frescoes which they are getting slowly restored.

There's a 20-minute walk to the train station (slightly less to the bus stop), but as the train service is not so frequent, advanced planning is needed to get around Tuscany, but having said that, it's perfectly do-able from here without a car!

“We will remember this place for a very long time”

We, family with small children, were traveling through the Italy and picked Villa di Lupo Parra as our base for Tuscany. We spent there three nights and made tips to Florence, Pisa, San Gimignano, Sienna, etc. We were traveling by car.
Of all the places we will remember the Villa, Donatelia and Antonio the most. This stay was really special. The atmosphere of the castle and friendliness of the hosts are unique.
At first, when we got there, it was a bit of a shook. From the outside the Villa looks like it is abandoned, and even a bit scary. But once inside, we were overwhelmed by emotions. Entrance hall, stairs, paintings, doors, garden... everything is unique. The apartment is comfortable and clean.
I am sure I will not stay in such place ever again in my life.

Thank you for your review. We are very pleased to learn that you enjoyed the atmosphere of the house. We have really appreciated the nice drawings your daughters made for us before leaving. We will frame them and keep them in "The coat of arms" apartment as a memory of your stay with us.
