“Interesting and its FREE”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 March 2014 via mobile

There are many different forms of art here, frescoes, paintings, sculptures, etc., but what I found most interesting were the rooms on the first floor. It was nice to see the items in place and understand the life that runs alongside such works of art. I also loved to see the furniture especially the amazingly detailed inlay work on many cabinets. ( I suspect I was born in the wrong era!)The information leaflets, in a stand in each room, were very useful and interesting and available in five or six languages including English. The toilets were clean and when you are out and about sightseeing it is nice to find. This attraction is just along the road from Santa Maria della Spina and on the way to the Keith Haring murale so you can combine all these free attractions. The strange thing was that this place was empty, perhaps people think that if it is free it is not worth it, but if you want your holiday money to last I say try it, if you don't like it leave, but I bet you won't!

“Make sure you visit this Pisa attraction”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 March 2014

Don’t miss this free attraction when you are in Pisa. The large riverside building was originally the home of Count Giuli and his family. It has now been transformed into an art gallery and museum.
On the top floor, there is an extensive collection of fine art and paintings, ranging from 14th century religious art and frescos to more modern works by local artists. The first floor has been retained as it was when the family was in residence. They lived on a grand scale and there are a several rooms which are lavishly furnished, including a sumptuous lounge and large dining room, with numerous interesting pieces of furniture, art, porcelain and sculptures. There is also a large library and an interesting collection of coins, dating from Greek and Roman times. All rooms have useful descriptive leaflets (in several languages, including English), which explain the room content and items of special interest. There are good toilet facilities.
The Palazzo is easy to find, being located on the south bank of the river, west of the Ponte di Mezzo, and adjacent to church of S Cristina; just look for the pale blue building!
