We stayed there for 3 nights early February and we enjoyed our stay deeply. The hotel is very well located, at walking distance from the train station and from many amenities, which allowed us to go walking everywhere, meeting included and some sightseeing. The hotel itself is lovely. I found it charming in its decoration. I had a rather small single room, but it was well organised and had everything I needed. It faced a quite inside court which allowed to sleep very well. However, for those who need large spaces, you should maybe indicate so at the time of booking. The bathroom was very comfortable and it provided a good variety of goodies. The room offered a mini-bar service at a very reasonable price, with free mineral water every day. Besides that, the staff were friendly and helpful. They reacted quickly when reporting our needs, from the moment we started doing our booking (notifying a later arrival) to the moment we left (transportation needs, keeping valuable things secured, etc.). They also recommended a restaurant (Bagus), which turned out to be a good discovery. And last but not least, breakfast was very good indeed! This is definitely a hotel that I will go back to and that I would recommend. Very good value for money!

stayed here for 3 nights. Great location, bonus that they collect you and drop you back to the airport. Very clean hotel. Good room although bathroom would be described as bijou it had everything you needed. Staff very helpful and directed us to different restaurant every evening. Helped with any questions we had including guidance for our trip to Florence. Very good breakfast with plenty of choice. Each evening stayed for a drink before going out to restaurant disappointed other guests did not do the same as we where the only 2 each evening!

For those looking for a quiet stay in Pisa - without too much unnecessary noise and rumble, but with some charm instead - Bologna in via Mazzini is a place to go. Elegant, comfortable, four star, but coming for a price of three star establishment, situated in a quiet street of an old town, it has even tasting partys on most of the nights from 19.00 to 21.00, where you can sample Tuscan products - a different one every evening. There are utensils to make tea or coffee in your room; some furniture in the room is manufactured in an old rustican villa style; all colours are pastel. There are only 15 min. by foot to the train station and 20-25 min. to the famous Torre Pendente and Campo dei Miracoli. What else would you need?
Dear Barone8, thanks a lot for your opinion. We are glad to see you enjoyed our hotel and the tastings of our regional products. We would be very happy to welcome you again in future and remain at your complete disposal. Best regards - Luca Gherardi
This hotel was perfect for what we needed. The location was ideal and centrally based . It was approx half an hour's walk to the tower with lots to see en route. The staff were incredibly helpful with train times and answered every query we had in a pleasant manner. We managed to use Pisa as a base to see Florence, Sienna , Lucca and San Gimiangno(?) all by train or bus.Viareggio is definitely worth a visit if you like walking along a sandy beach and Forte dei Marni is even more upmarket. The breakfasts were very good with ample choice for all food tastes. Our only critisism would be that we were there for a whole week unlike most folk who tend to use it as a stop off for a couple of nights and the room was very small and in an annex. It was adequate but for seven nights, it was a little cramped.
Valued guest, thanks a lot for staying with us and for sharing your experience here on Tripadvisor. We are happy to see you enjoyed your time in Pisa and would be very happy to welcome you soon again. Best regards - Luca Gherardi
Hotel Bologna is a typical 4 star hotel in a historic city, as there are many around Europe. This means the building has "character", as they say, and the rooms are not as big as they build them at present day. This also means you're in for an authentic experience, rather than a stay in an anonymous concrete building.
The room we had was as clean as we, rather experienced travellers, had ever seen. The room looked reasonable well maintained. Though some leakage damage and spots, stripes, cracks and tears on walls and ceiling where evident. The bathroom was small but adequate. The mattresses are not very good, as they hardly ever are, but there is a free "pillow menu" wich gives you a choice out of five different pillows.
The room has all the extra's you'd expect at this level, and then some. Toiletries are abundant, there's televison with some European channels, personal airconditioning/heating, a well stocked minibar at extremely reasonable prices and free bottled water, free wifi internet in your room, as well as free slippers and a free safe to use.
Service at the reception desk was outstanding. Friendly, polite, quick and efficient. Questions were answered quick and recommendations for local restaurants answered our wishes well. The hotel offers a, again free, shuttle service to the airport and train station.
Breakfast was very nice, and even rather excessive if compared to your typical mediterranean hotel breakfast.
The hotel is situated in the center of Pisa, a five minute taxi drive from the Galileo Galilei Airport. Everything there is to see or do in the historic centre of Pisa is in walking distance, from the central station to the leaning tower and Duomo.
During our stay, building work was being done to several rooms on at least one floor. This was noticable, but not disturbing, apart from a failing heating system on several moments. This was however, always quickly resolved.
We've stayed this january, which meant prices were low. This made the hotel very good value for money. Expect to pay more in season. Rack rate is around 250 euro's per double per night. It's a good four star hotel and highly recommendable.
