Description: Osteria Rossini (ex Ristoro Piccadilly) is a family run restaurant, located in one of the most beautiful and central squares of Pisa, called Piazza Dante Alighieri (900 metres from the Leaning Tower). For lunch, you can find a simple and quick menu for those with a busy day of sightseeing, as well as a menu for those who want to relax and enjoy the typical Tuscan dishes. Everything is cooked with love and care, and in the traditional way, by chef and co-owner Cristina. In the evening, the Restaurant has a more refined menu with seafood and vegetarian choices, but the specialty is the meat. Co-owner Stefano, seeks out only the best local and genuine farms around Tuscany to find the finest meats for his customers. During the summer time, the terrace faces the green and quiet Piazza Dante Alighieri. The view is the perfect accompaniment to the great food prepared with love and passion from Cristina, and a good Tuscan wine recommended by Stefano. Don't forget: the desserts are also all homemade!

“Great find, good food and wine.”
Reviewed 2 August 2013 via mobile

We are staying in Pisa for a week and were walking around looking at churches. We stumbled into this little square and it being about 12 noon we needed drinks and food. Gosh it was hot. The local Pharmacia sign said 43C but that may have been in direct sun. My guess was about 28 in the shade. This was a great find. Piccadilly is great. My wife and I were talking about the number of places that seem to ha e Uk type names, or maybe we stole them in the first place!
Lots and lots of wine to choose from, house wine was very good though. We only wanted a snack but the food was very good too. Service quick with a smile and helpful. The place is very popular with locals too, always a good sign. Yes, you do get a little bothered by the sellers of goods and the so called musicians are an acquired taste but locals seem to either completely ignore them as if they are not there or fully engage in conversation - but not buy anything. Maybe it was the wi e as my map reading skills went AWOL and we were heading for town/ river but ended up at the Tower! A nice surprise. We also spotted a sign near bistro that said it was illegal to purchase counterfeit items from street traders, liable to a 200Euro fine. Well done Pisa council. Explains why the hawkers were not too pushy.
We will be going back to Piccadilly again before we leave.

“If you like anything fishy... try this!”
Reviewed 21 June 2013

We were treated to a meal at this restaurant. It was a bit like a Tapas because the meal portions were small but there were so many of them. I think the idea was to allow you to sample as many different types of fishy things as possible including Octopus [wow!].
I've no idea how many different types of food I had but they were declicious and each was explaned to us as it appeared. It was a wonderful experience and the taste experience was spread out for over an hour, excellent.
The 'scenic view' is internal to what looks like a courtyard. The only annoyance was people trying to seel you watches and sunglasses but they soon went away, only to be followed by two musicians who played two tuned before realising they were on a loser and went away; they were far too loud to be romantic background music. But this could not spoil the meal or the atmosphere.

“Best meal (and value) in Pisa, Italy”
Reviewed 10 June 2013

One of the best of several meals we had in Italy. Fresh, local cuisine...precisely prepared and served in a most welcoming, lovely atmosphere. The final bill (2 entrees, delicious 'mixed vegetable' appetizer that was the very best we had in Italy, a bottle of vino) was less than 40 euro. Relaxing, attentive service in a beautiful venue. We will highly recommend this to co-workers who frequently fly to Italy.
