We are staying in Pisa for a week and were walking around looking at churches. We stumbled into this little square and it being about 12 noon we needed drinks and food. Gosh it was hot. The local Pharmacia sign said 43C but that may have been in direct sun. My guess was about 28 in the shade. This was a great find. Piccadilly is great. My wife and I were talking about the number of places that seem to ha e Uk type names, or maybe we stole them in the first place!
Lots and lots of wine to choose from, house wine was very good though. We only wanted a snack but the food was very good too. Service quick with a smile and helpful. The place is very popular with locals too, always a good sign. Yes, you do get a little bothered by the sellers of goods and the so called musicians are an acquired taste but locals seem to either completely ignore them as if they are not there or fully engage in conversation - but not buy anything. Maybe it was the wi e as my map reading skills went AWOL and we were heading for town/ river but ended up at the Tower! A nice surprise. We also spotted a sign near bistro that said it was illegal to purchase counterfeit items from street traders, liable to a 200Euro fine. Well done Pisa council. Explains why the hawkers were not too pushy.
We will be going back to Piccadilly again before we leave.
