“The owners shared their dream; we lived the dream for one week!”
Reviewed 14 May 2011

We enjoyed a full week with friends at Guardastelle during September of 2010. Our apartment was lovely and spacious with stunning views of the villa and the Tuscan hills from every window. We cooked in the well-appointed kitchen, dined and read outside on our private patio, and swam in the pool that overlooks the grapevines. Several mornings, we joined the b & b guests for breakfast (including Roberta's fabulous cappuncinos!), and one day sat on an outside terrace for an amazing wine-tasting lunch. We walked every day on the quiet back road to nearby San Gimignano, where there is much history, many shops and incredible food.
Susanna and Fausto, the young owners, were gracious and welcoming. We had many conversations with them as we learned about the restoration of the property, the extensive remodeling of the buildings, and the grape and olive harvest. They truly shared their dream with us.
We’ll definitely return and have recommended this lovely place to many people. It was even better than we hoped!

My wife our 4-years old daughter and I stayed at Guardastelle in the middle of March. It was the first point on our trip across Tuscany and I'm sure we've made the right choice. We were happy with the place. The view is fantastic, the rooms are cozy and comfortable. The owners are very hospitable. Guardestelle gave us everything that we expected from Tuscany.
The agriturismo is perfectly located, a couple kilometers from San Gimignano, small ancient town which is a must to visit and walk through its narrow streets. Siena, Florence and Volterra are less than an hour drive from Guardastelle.
Fausto and Susanna, owners of the house, are very nice people. They've been very helpful and you can surely follow their recommendations about what to see and where to eat. They produce very good Chianti Senese and olive oil. It worst trying and taking a couple of bottles with you.
We're looking forward to coming back to Guardastelle. We really loved it.

I and my husband spend 4 nights in Guardastelle in March 2011. We were amazed by the lovely interiors and the home like atmosphere. We felt like visiting some good friends. The family that owns the place is constantly available to assist you and offer support if needed. The breakfast was great, and the cappuccino prepared by Roberta was excellent. 

Waking up in the morning was a unique experience, as we could see the morning fog covering the surrounding hills and the sun warming up the walls of San Gimignano, which we could admire from our room.

The period we selected was perfect because there were not many tourists so we could visit at ease Florence, San Gimignano and Voltera.

My partner and I came across Guardastelle when we were looking for a small, personal villa to get married in. When we walked up the drive to the villa we knew that it was the right place for us. The landscape was blooming with flowers, the decor internally and externally is stunning and you feel like you are a home away from home. The pool is spectacular. Susanna and Fausto are a wonderful young couple who have put their heart in to the renovation of the villa and they are great hosts and extremely genuine.
The walks in the area are stunning and you can walk up a lovely country lane into the City of San Gimignano in 20 minutes. We are getting married in June in Siena and will holding our reception at the Villa. Our friends and family will be staying with us at the Villa and we can’t wait for them to experience it. We feel really lucky to have found such a special place.

Our last two trips to Italy have included a week at Guardastelle.

We have found that this wonderful location in Tuscany coupled with the high standards held by Susanna, Fausto and Roberta at Guardastelle capture what we look for when we travel. Comfortable large beds, large clean bathrooms, all amenities and a wonderful Tuscan breakfast each morning. Perfect.

Day trips to medieval towns, Cole di Val D'Elsa, Siena, Monteriggioni, Volterra and Florence. Concerts in the evening in a local church, lingering lunches, wine tasting and endless photo opportunities all add up to the Tuscan experience. When we next visit Tuscany we will use Guardastelle as our base.

Guardastelle is one of the most beautiful places we've ever visited. We've been there twice now and it was amazing in any detail.
This place came across our ways while we were travelling in the Tuscan area. The rooms are arranged in a very individual and unique way - one can see that it was made with attention to detail. Fausto and Susanna, thank you very much for your unlimited hospitality!
For us this place will always be a very special location - as we got engaged there in 2009.
We are planing to come back...
Greetings from Zurich
Johanna & Michael

I found Guardastelle while searching for places to try wine tasting in the Tuscan area. Thanks to tripadvisor I found this wonderful place to stay. Since we were traveling in February I wasn't sure if Guardastelle would be open but they responded to my email request and welcomed us into their home. Even before we arrived I was regretting we were only going to stay for one night. Fausto and Susanna, the owners, were lovely from the start. We arrived in the early evening and were quickly shown to our rooms so we could freshen up. Fausto upon request gave us a little history of the farm and vineyard. For dinner we went to nearby San Gimingnano. The next morning we awoke to the most beautiful views out of our windows. It's true what they say about the Tuscan sun. The farm house is surrounded by vineyards and olive trees. We had breakfast prepared for us by Roberta, a very lovely lady.

Susanna produces two types of red wine and one white and they produce cold pressed extra virgin olive oil. We took the wine tasting with Fausto and really enjoyed the experience. We spent a couple of hours in San Gimingnano, a beautiful medieval village and then we had to head on to Rome.

I hope we will return to Guardastelle but stay longer. I can see us renting a car and staying there a week, taking day trips but always coming home to Guardastelle.

Felicidades Fausto y Susanna!
