“Very Good Tuscan Food”
Reviewed 2 June 2014

We loved the food in this restaurant. We had proschutto e melone as antipasti and they were extrememly good and tasty. Steaks and other secondis were good as well. Mostly we liked the Chianti wines that compared to their price were excellent. The only thing that annoued a bit was the drought from the main door that was open.

“Luxury without the $$$$”
Reviewed 31 May 2014 via mobile

I dine out about 100 times a year. I can appreciate cheap comfort food for a few dollars, and haute cuisine for a few hundred. Dollar-for-dollar, this is probably the best meal I have ever experienced.

Fresh ingredients, Classic Tuscan technique, and al fresco dining with BREATHTAKING views (across the street, not inside the restaurant) left us wanting to linger well beyond our meal.

Shared appetizer (caprese salad) , two primi dishes (penne with Gorgonzola and crushed walnuts, spaghetti with a wild boar ragù), bottled water, a delicious local Sangiovese ('09 Paretaio), shared dessert (lemon tart) and a cappuccino set us back about €62.

This restaurant experience alone has made us want to return to San Gimignano.

“Average meal but the view is stunning”
Reviewed 31 May 2014 via mobile

Would recommend this place for the view, if you book ask for the terrace, the view is stunning
The service is good but unfortunately the food is pretty average
We were away for 2 weeks in Florence, Pisa & san gimgano and the food was not the best
We may have ordered wrong but the pork with saffron was almost in-edible and the wild boar was partially cooked, to be honest it seemed to be microwaved, some chunks were boiling hot and underneath some were cold
We did have the gnocchi with truffle which was stunning so again we may have ordered wrong
Would recommend for the view & the pasta but there are better restaurants around but not many better views

“Food at its best for bargain prices all with an amazing view!”
Reviewed 29 May 2014 via mobile

The restaurant has an inside and a terrace with the most amazing views. Booking is highly recommended for the terrace. The food is of the highest quality and fresh ingredients but they are not charging ridiculous prices who his probably why they are always busy. Whatever you do, you must leave room for dessert as it would be a crime to miss such simply delicious dishes. Dishes we had on our visits and that we can recommend are gnocchi in cheese and truffle sauce ( you can actually see and taste the truffle!), spaghetti al pesto, Pork in saffron and chocolate truffle, tiramisu and semifreddo. If you have children and just want a plain fresh tomato sauce with pasta that is no trouble for them too.

“Romantic and beautiful”
Reviewed 29 May 2014

The service was fantastic and the food was great. The view from the edge of the garden seating area was outstanding. Make reservations for 6 pm when they open or these tables will not be available. Bring a sweater if you are dining after sundown as it starts to get chilly. The garden is well maintained and has some unique sculptures. The staff was very attentive and polite. We made reservations for the next night before leaving in order to make sure we had the awesome vista.
