“Once again, a fabulous holiday”
Reviewed 23 July 2014

We make a point never to make holidays at the same place, but after our last years stay at Villa Baciolo, we came back for more. And again, the staff were extremely friendly and helpful, everything in a perfect condition and very clean, not to mention the location and view which are the magical and truly stunning touch. Come and stay here, there is probably no other place in Tuscany close to San Gimignano that can get under your skin more than Villa Baciolo! Btw. Carla (the charming owner) recommended us a place where to buy good oil. No agriturismo, no tourist trap, but the real thing, a charming old couple that produce only for themselves and their extended family and sell only to friends and friends of friends :)

This B&B is actually located in San Donato about 5 kilometers from San Gimigniano. It was very easy to book by email. I contacted the owners and they confirmed the room availability, did not request a deposit!, and just asked that we reconfirm two days prior to arrival. The double room was 95Euro/night with breakfast included. We paid cash.

The location is superb for views: you can see San Gimigniano shimmering in the near distance and the rolling hills of Tuscany all around. They have a spectacular garden patio with beautiful flowering plants. We sat there for awhile enjoying the quiet and the views. They served appetizers and drinks until 9pm and breakfast in the morning on the patio.

Our room was in a casita apart from the main building. The room was attractive and good sized with a big bed, free standing wardrobe, table and stool. The bed itself was the least comfortable of the trip--kinda hammock-y and very firm. The pillows again were too hard for me, sigh. Our room had big glass doors and big glass windows but the curtains were dark enough that I could sleep into the morning. It also had a cute table and chairs outside the door, under one of the beautiful flowering plants.

The bathroom was attractive but poorly laid out. The sink was too big for the space; the shower was very small and slippery and could have easily been a foot larger. I liked that there was a window in the bathroom.

Hubby killed a huge spider, a caterpillar and the biggest mosquito (?) I have ever seen! There was no AC so the windows were open allowing these visitor free pass to terrorize me!

Breakfast was good continental type fare but the coffee was too weak for me.

Overall, I'd rate this place 3.5 of 5 stars. I'd recommend it for the views, the ease of making a reservation, nice staff, good price. You definitely need a car if staying here.

I don't seem to get round to writing reviews online much but this place really prompted me to put finger to keyboard! Our arrival at the B&B and the view from our window and the breakfast area were just magical and took our breath away. Lovely staff and completely chilled out atmosphere. They even put up with me trying out my very rusty Italian. The food was great and it's situated within easy reach of to San Gimignano, Siena and Florence. Thoroughly recommended!

Room Tip: Room 9 had a great view of San Gimignano - but others might too.

My wife and I and our friends just finished 5 wonderful nights at Villa Baciolo. This establishment truly defines what an Italian Tuscan countryside B&B should be. It is perfectly operated by sisters Carla and Nadia, with great support from their lovely mother. The rooms are immaculate, as are the public areas. There cannot be many things more enjoyable in Italy than to sit with a glass of wine on their patio looking across at San Gimignano on the next hilltop. The pleasant, accommodating and friendly way that these ladies operate their facility makes you want to stay longer. The location is very good for exploring the Siena region of Tuscany.

Room Tip: Ask for a room looking out a San Gimignano

Best Bed & Breakfast I've ever stayed in! My friends and I were actually planning to spend the night in Pisa but our reservation was somehow cancelled - the lady who owns the Bed & Breakfast was so kind to give us a room for the night. She and her sister were very friendly and generous and they are doing a great job running the b&b.
The rooms are comfortable, clean and very nicely decorated, the view from the terrace is amazing and you get a great breakfast in the morning.
All in all we had a great time and would have loved to stay longer!

My wife, my daughter and I stayed at Villa Baciolo for 5 nights in June 2013. The best time EVER! The Villa is a beautifully refurbished house, with a swimming pool and unbelievable views over San Gimignano. The room was very clean, small kitchenette and bathroom - perfect for what we needed. Great food (quality meats, fruit, cereal and freshly baked cakes) - breakfast and dinners (and local wine:)) were excellent. The location is convenient, only 5 minutes drive to San Gimignano. We loved everything in the Villa, especially beautiful views. Carla, Nadia - perfect hosts - nothing was ever a problem... If we ever return someday to Italy - this will be the place we'll visit and stay again.

Loved every single moment of staying at this gorgeous B & B place. If you plan a holiday to Tuscany and love quite countryside places away from big crowded cities then this is your best choice you can make! Very nice service, nice local people! Go for it!!!
