On a beautiful day in what looked like a good spot we (8 persons) decided to eat here in the square and watch the world go by. The service was slow (very) and it was not busy. To add to that we had to wait 40 minutes for entries and then even longer for mains. Many of them were cold and spoiled the lunch. While it is fair to say some of the food was excellent the uneven service in such a great spot was surprising. While I am sure it was an off day we will not be back. It seems that it has a connection to the hotel adjacent and eating in there may have been a better choice. The restaurant came recommended which made it more disappointing. A good indicator was the number of other patrons who were also not happy. Some got up and left.

I often hesitate to go to a restaurant being part of an hotel where we don't stay... but in this one, no risk ! People are very friendly, they speak French, English, Russian ...so we're in confidence.
Not only the selection of pastas is great ( I recommend the ones with truffles) but wine is is nice ( the Brunello of course) and a large selection odf deserts is proposed. Considering the quantity served you do not need to make a full lunch / diner ..;a single dish is quite enough and very affordable for one of the most famous place in town

On the first night we tried, what we thought was the Le Terrazze. Strangely, we were given pictures of the dishes. It turned out to be the tables of the bar next door. The restaurant seems to have tables outside, inside downstairs. While upstairs there is a large area that seems to be used for lunch sittings. The photos are from the 'Antica' restaurant upstairs and to the left. The meal was very typical and good, but we were not aware of all areas until later in the week and after much exploration.

A strange experience. We where sat at tables clearly layed for breakfast and then spent 10 minutes waiting for the tables to be laid for dinner. Further waiting for a menu. Further waiting for our order to be taken. Children wanted Pizza which was on the menu in the street, on the menu on the door and on the menu that was eventually handed to us.

"Sorry no Pizza"

I'm sure the wild bore (frozen) or the venison are very good but once a child has an idea of food fixed in there head it's difficult to shift. Not just our kids either, the table by the side of us had the exactly the same experience.

The food was excellent. One of my sons had the wild boar, which he said was very good. The views are spectacular, and the ambience in the dining room built in the 14th century was wonderful. Highly recommended.
