“Marvellous pieces of ceramics art”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 April 2014

We visited the workshop after reading a recommendation in a tourist guide and admired the wonderful pieces of art after admiring them for quite a while. Our little son was attracted by the skillful working of a vase by Mr Balducci who gave him a little piece of clay to work on which made him extremely happy. It was most fascinating to watch the process of making an elegant object and to compare it to a finished piece. In the meantime, we found it very difficult to make choice as one piece was more beautiful than the other. Finally we did choose a set of three vases inspired by the towers of San Gimingiano as well as a set of plate and bowel. Using only natural materials, no lead of course, objects with fascinating colours were the result. We were all amazed by wonderful ceramics workshop and we will certainly drop in at our next visit.

“Wonderful ceramics shop”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 April 2014

Visiting San Gimignano, happened to walk buy this shop and was immediately enchanted by the ceramics in the window. Inside, found a selection of many different items that we would have loved to take home with us. Did buy a pair of matched vases that caught my eye in the window that is now part of our small collection of varied, mostly celadon vases and plates. Next visit, might have some tiles shipped home once we decide on the remodeling scheme for our kitchen. Might even order them without a visit. Unlike the general tourist shops, Balducci's is what makes San Gimignano more interesting for its contemporary creative vigor and craftsmanship. Don't miss a visit to the shop.

When we strolled through San Gimignano, we remarked the small window of the ceramic shop and so it was too late...we entered, saw two small vases, decided to buy them as a souvenir. But than we discovered a sculpture named "evolution" an we bought it( and this was more than a small souvenir). We couldn't take it with us and so the very friendly Mr. Balducci promised to sent it to us. Same days later It arrived and now we were happy about our purchase.
Recommendable.

“A Pottery Store worth looking for”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 April 2014

As we were exploring San Gemignano, we happened upon Ceramica Balducci (Balducci Ceramics), a pottery shop where the artisan sat creating his pieces. We were invited to come in and view the various handcrafted household and artistic stoneware. There was no push to buy, and we enjoyed the opportunity to just watch some pieces being turned on the wheel. We brought back a unique oil and vinegar set that we display proudly with great memories of our trip to Italy. This shop is located down a quiet street, away from the many shops filled with touristy things. Ceramica Balducci is well worth a drop in when you visit San Gemignano.
