“Beautiful setting, Wonderful Hosts”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 March 2014

This Agriturismo has something unique -- its shared dining experience with creates a family atmosphere and a blending of cultures and experiences. While we found the language differences somewhat challenging, we enjoyed meeting our fellow travelers. The dinner was wonderful -- a full five course (or was it seven?) meal. The homemade honeys are a wonderful complement to the cheese and the breakfast buffet. In terms of the rooms, ours was very comfortable. We loved the underfloor heating in the bathroom -- perfect in chilly weather. The view was beautiful too -- peaceful, serene, looking out over the hills. The setting for the B&B is wonderful -- I could have walked there for hours. The location, near San Gimignano, was perfect for us. In the off-season, this town is simply charming. Last, but far from least, the owner, her family and her staff are wonderful hosts. Tiziana and her family treated us as if we were part of the family. We were very touched by her warmth and her attention to our needs. Thank you to all -- we do hope to come back!

In beautiful Tuscany, a short drive to San Gimignano. This working farm, offers a bed, breakfast ... and dinner. Of course the beauty of including dinner, is the safety and convenience of simply walking across the hall, or up the stairs following that extra glass or two of wine with dinner. A 5 course dinner is served family style at a large communal table, shared by the agritourismo's guests, as well as some tourists and locals from nearby. The food is fresh, plentiful, and delicious, though certainly not gourmet. Wine flows freely, and Tiziana encourages everyone to eat, drink, and get to know the other guests. Mealtime turns into a celebration. Breakfast includes eggs, meats, cheeses, yogurt, fresh baked, cakes and breads with housemade honeys, and great coffee.
Our room, on the ground floor, opened to the courtyard, and a patio table for 2. The room and bathroom, were a good size. The shower hot and strong. The freshly pressed linen towels in the bath, were not bad, just different, and equally effective, as the terry variety. We made several other stops in Italy and had these same towels in other hotels. The one big issue was the bed. We found it to be uncomfortably firm, and found it necessary to sleep on top of the extra pillows in the cupboard. A guided, casual ride on horseback through vineyards and lush woods was simply magical, and should not be missed.

Room Tip: Though a main floor room offers a lovely walkout to the courtyard, you may be awakened by the sound...

We just came back from El Vecchio Maneggio and loved everything about it. The convenient location, beautiful scenery, AMAZING home cooked endless dinners and the warm and familial feel. The beds could be a bit more comfortable but that's not a reason not to go!

My wife and I recently stayed at Agriturismo Il Vecchio Maneggio following considerable research to find somewhere good to stay. I am at a loss as to why this place gets the reviews it does because I cannot see how it warrants more then 2 to 3 circles at best. Let me explain why. On our first night the owners dogs were barking on and off all night, On the following 3 nights they were not as bad thank goodness just the odd bark.
The noise insulation in the room was almost zero, although to be fair you could not hear people talking you could hear water running, people using the toilet and the toilets flushing etc We had an early riser next to us so could hear toilets flushing and showers running at 6.30am every morning we stayed.
The bathroom was very poor with towels like tea towels - we had to use a hairdryer to dry off as the towels provided were so thin. In order to use the toilet you had to put your feet onto the shower tray - I am not exaggerating I promise! The shower was about 500mm square and you have to be a contortionist to use it. You could not bend over to pick anything up.
The bed was the worst bed I have ever slept on and I have slept on hundreds of beds in my lifetime. We had an orthopedic mattress which had almost no give, on top of a hard base. My wife and I had to constantly turn over all night due to the pain of sleeping on such a hard surface.
The bedroom was very dark with a small window and very basic furniture. A small table and a hard chair. There is no guest lounge with comfortable chairs. The dining chairs are hard wooden chairs so there is nowhere in the whole place to get comfortable.
The food was average at best and mass produced to feed a lot of people.
The staff were friendly enough and the area was nice but by UK standards it is ridiculous to rate this place as 5 circles for the reasons mentioned. I could go on but hopefully this review will serve as a warning to anyone thinking they are going to get something special but in fact it is the opposite. I was very glad to leave and get home to my own bed.

Room Tip: Try to avoid the first floor room at the front of the building above the main entrance that we staye...

Our group of 8 from Minnesota came here on a recommendation from a friend. We stayed 7 days and Tiziana and her family treated us like long lost family. the location was a perfect place to take day trips out of and Tiziana was a wealth of information on how to get there, where to park, things to see. The atmosphere was so warm and inviting and the food, how does one put in a short review the many course meals Tiziana and her family put on every night with house made wines, veggies, local foods were fantastic. we never walked away hungry ever and the house digestives, honeys on pecorino cheese was excellent. Every night was a different Tuscan experience, we had such a wonderful time and interacting with the other guests from all over the world and other places in Italy was a joy. A return visit will be in order!

We spent 2 nights on our honeymoon at this A+++ bed and breakfast.

We rented a car through Hertz in Florence. Without an international GPS there would have been a 0% chance of finding this place. It was very challenging but we found it and it was so awesome!!!! Mom and Pop style dinners every single night at 8pm. Everyone eats at a big table together. We had a few locals and a beautiful group of 8 from Minnesota w us. Easily, hands down the BEST food that I ate in my 13 days in ITL.

At the B and B, we: swam. And went horse back riding- which was very cool!!!
we drove to a few local wine tastings and went into tuscany to tour around.
I absolutely recommend this to everyone who likes an adventure and who has an intl gps- ha ha. TIZINIA (the mom there) is so magnificent.
We spent 2 nights there.

One negative: finding it. Use the address they have, NOTTT the coordinates as I was told by them. And they charged me 3 euros for a towel for the pool!!! After spending over $500.00 there I expected at least a free towel to borrow.

But, def stay here!

We went there as part of a Tuscany day tour. It was AMAZING!!! The views were wonderful. The meal was incredible. 5 courses with wine at every course. Everything we ate was produced on the farm. The hospitality was second to none. The food seemed to be never ending. Now that I know they also have rooms for overnight stay, I will return for sure. If you are visiting San Gimignano it is worth the side trip.
