Well maintained historic villa with lovely grounds and a wonderful, clean swimming pool. We stayed in the "Rose" Room--very spacious, tastefully decorated, with A/C that worked wonderfully (most welcome in the heat of August). Bed was very comfortable with extra pillows etc. available. Breakfast a very reasonable 5 euros and a large simple selection to choose from.
We also were able to get in on one of their special dinners in the garden overlooking the vineyard. The food was traditional and very tasty, service professional yet friendly, wine went well with the food--and what a treat to watch the sun set on Siena in the distance and then be surrounded by stars. Magical!!
A big Thank You to Giuseppe, who made a special trip back to the Villa to give us and our friends a spur of the moment tour of the winery the next morning, which included a scrumptious cheese and meats platter. He was very patient and knowledgeable, answering all our questions fully.
A special note regarding comments made regarding being left alone/no one being there. This is an Azienda, not an hotel, so does not have 24hour personnel in a lobby. There is a phone system to contact the manager/owner, which we did use, and we had a response on-line literally within seconds. It was obvious that personnel are nearby and we felt very secure and pampered during our stay. We will definitely return.More
