Only standing room while you eat. Really worth doing. Ask for the platter when you walk in the butchers. The platter had a load of amazing meats and chesses. Was something fun and different to do. On the downside you have to fight off the tourists who think you food is for everyone. Make sure you keep an eye out.

This is an absolute tourist trap and the owner is a con artist. We fell for the charm of the exterior and went in to order some prosciutto and some cheese. I was surprised at the high prices in the shop given that we've been to many similar shops in Venice and Florence. We ordered a prosciutto which had a price tag of 35 euros per kilo. The bill came and he claimed that the prosciutto was 90 euros per kilo and pointed to a label at the other side of the meat counter with a price of 90 euros extremely far away from the proscuitto we chose. When we questioned the price he became aggressive and I knew we had just been ripped off. Beware of this shop, please avoid!!!

The owners are real characters that would fit every stereo-type of an Italian corner store butcher. They sometimes come across as impatient but give a warm smile and be polite and they warm up. They're dealing with a LOT of tourists!
The store is "old world" charm, cramped and crowded with the many hams and other things hanging from the ceiling, yet they still manage to fit people into the place, and outside, trying one of their samplers.
We've been in Siena a few days and have been back several times.
Highly recommend this one, even if only for the experience!

It was my second time in Siena and here, first time I went for the "torta Rustica" this second time we wanted to try other things and they recommended a plate with cheese and ham, they fixed a plate for us and even recommend a good wine to go with everything. It was just great and tasty!! We did take torta rustica to go off course it is a most try!

We had tonight one of our fantastic experiences in Siena.
We had a platter of cheese & cold cuts, breads and some black truffle with a great Brunello de Montalcino wine and the amazing ambience of the owner Antonio. All this combined was fantastic. We enjoyed and also learn a lot.
