“Watch out! 2 hotels by the same name”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 October 2012

Watch out!
the owner of this hotel runs two different hotels - "I terzi di Siena" (50m from Piazza del Campo) and "La Magione di Camollia" (1km = 15 min walk from the Piazza). They switch the resrvations from one hotel to another according to their needs but they don't inform the guests correctly.

Our story:
We booked two nights in "I terzi di siena". We chose the hotel since it has a great location - only 50 metrs from the main piazza. A week after the reservation was made, the hotel sent us a confirmation email under the name "I terzi di siena".

When we arrived to Siena the owners called us to say they're waiting for us, in a different address! When we asked why they relocated us, they lied and said we confirmed the new location (that never happened)

We bagged them to have us in the original location, but it was already fully booked.

The whole attitude was insulting and indifferent.
That was a very unpleasen surprise.
We will not return to this place again.

Dear guests,

probably your stay in Siena wasn't very pleasant, we have tried to welcome you in a warm and comfortable way (even giving you a safe place to store your bikes and granting you a discount!), but you weren't prepared for a holiday or a peaceful stay: nothing could make you feel good!
We will wait for you for another stay in our B&B, hoping you will have the right feeling to face a nice trip and therefore the right opinion about us!

A lot of stairs up but you are rewarded with great views of the city from the balcony and the room (ours anyway). Also kitchen facilities and a nice room close to Il Campo. Good wifi and nice shared bathroom.

Room Tip: We had the shared bathroom but it was only with one other room and was very close by. Nice big bathr...

There are several places in Siena owed by a family. I lived in two of them. One is located on a 7th floor (112 steps, but the view up there is tremendous!) and consists of several rooms with shared bath and kitchen. Very clean, well equipped, and authentic. Another one is an apartment with kitchen and bath ensuite, extremely beautiful and really worth its price. Both places are located just in the centre of the city. I really liked the hosts, they are very nice and caring! Will definitely stay there next time.

After you climbe 112 steps to the top floor where the hotel is located you are rewarded with fantastic view of roofs and domes of Siena. The hotel is in the very center of the town.
If you do not mind that you share a bath and kitchen and that you have to climb to the top floor, then I can recommend this hotel to you.

Yes, it is a long way up with a fantastic view! - We tried to stay positive and it is a form of exercise after all that pasta and gelato :) The kitchen is limited, The breakfast provided isbasic - american bread, crackers, cornflakes, a selection of jams. Our room was not serviced for the 3 nights we stayed so if you want fresh towels you will need to ask for them. You share the kitchen and some rooms share a bathroom, so this is more like an up-market hostel, rather than a traditional B & B. We met some great people from the other side of the world which was a bonus. On the whole this is a very tidy apartment with good size rooms and nice bathroom. I would recommend if you don't mind being social with other travelers and you don't mind not having a host on-site.

Room Tip: If you want to be secluded from other guests, ask for the very top apartment which has its own bathr...

Quint and well equipped place. Only setback, it's located on the highest floor; with only stairs.

We LOVED this apartment. Great complete kitchen, washing machine, fabulous views, terrace. I admit the 5 floors were a bit tiring but a small price to pay for such a great central location.
