“Busy, busy place”

This is definitely the heart of the city! Good bars and restaurants and a vibrant atmosphere. The architecture is interesting and there are many Vias and Vicolos leading to and from it

“Extraordinary”

Just to sit, have a meal and look around - so much history has occurred there. Lots of people watching.

“Beautiful and relaxing”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 June 2014

Siena is a truly gem in the italian tuscany, filled with tight streets and many picturesque views. Piazza del campo is the most opened area in the city and a really beautifull spot to enjoy the life that goes on there. you can sit on the ground while eating a gelatto. You will not want to leave it!

“A gem!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 June 2014

I and my friends stayed in Siena for just a couple of hours, just passing to Florence, so this was the only place we actually visited. We sure enjoyed our short visit though! This shell-shaped square is the center of Siena and home to the very beautiful Palazzo Publico. A lot of stores are located around it and one can buy almost anything. I hope I will have a second chance to visit this lovely city and this square in particular, to admire its beauty.

“Properly to be seen on non-Palio days!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 June 2014

While being in Siena during the Palio is an experience in itself, the Piazza del Campo must be seen on a non-Palio day to appreciate the sea-shell shape, the sloping ground, the Gaia fountain and the impressive Palazzo Pubblico.

Wander around the restaurants and gelaterias surrounding the piazza - but even a gelato from here is quite expensive! You can still get a gelato at a decent price from the surrounding side-streets and then sit in Piazza del Campo and enjoy the view, the atmosphere and the people-watching :)
