“Great Little Hotel - Excellent Location”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 September 2012

The Duomo Hotel is situated very close to Siena's top sites - LL Campo and The Duomo. The staff was helpful and friendly. We would stay there again without hesitation. They helped arrange a great half day tour to San Gimignano with a wine tasting. It is best if you spend at least 2 nights in Siena. After 6pm most of the tour groups are gone and the locals come out. Stroll along II Campo or stop for a class of wine and do some "people watching".

I stayed for 2 nights and really appreciated the owner moving things around to accommodate me. The location is great if you are driving, just a short 400m walk to parking area. Nice easyish walk into town centre and all the attractions. sienna is a beautiful place with the Cathedral in my opinion being more magnificent than Florence. The streets are safe and don't have pesky street vendors. My room was basic, the bed was hard as it was one of the cheap one matures on high legs style. The pillows were hard and the anthropomorphic needed a renovation to update and get rid of mould. Breakfast is basic, no hot food, which is not a bad thing for the waistline. Staff were exceptionally helpful and made me feel very welcome. This is a hotel you should only ever pay € 70 for but I came in high season, still the €125 per night was a bit much. Hard to actually complain as let's ace it we don't spend much time in the rooms

nice small hotel located near the main art gallery, cathedral, 5 mins from Piazza del Campo and shopping, and what it lacks in big hotel facilities it gains in charm, stunning views and location. Nice local staff, clean adequate shower / bathroom facilities, small but practical rooms. We stayed 5 nights and loved it.

Room Tip: ask for top floor - views are great and there's a sun deck

We booked a room for four people. It was a big room. The double bed space was separated by sliding doors from the two single beds. There was a very big window with a view to the cathedral which we love. But the curtains didn't cover enough the light so early in the morning the light was too much. The air conditioning made noise so we couldn't have it switched on all night otherwise we couldn't sleep. The price was too high for what they offer. The breakfast could be better. But I liked the hotel. The localization is excellent. The room is bigger than the usual.

Room Tip: If you are four ask for the room 54. Excellent views. Double bed king size an the twin beds are in s...

We stayed at Hotel Duomo for 1 night as friends had said we MUST visit Siena. They had a quad room, advertised a little more than the other quad they have as it stated good view, for 218 euro B&B. Looking at the pictures I felt this was a little steep but the other option looked more like a youth hostel! When we arrived we were really pleased with the location, which is why it is that price, you couldn't get much closer to Il Campo, unless you pitched a tent in it! The room was spacious, clean, comfortable and the view was pretty good. We had 2 a/c units, plenty of hot water and good water pressure - nothing worse than a drippy shower. The staff could not have been nicer and more helpful. We had parked the car in completely the wrong place so quick driving directions were given, Jon retrieved the car and when he arrived outside the hotel they took it off for him and parked it. This was an extra 20 euros on the bill but they also delivered it back to us at the hotel when we checked out so well worth the money.
Breakfast was basic but fresh and enough choice - if you want hot breakfast you won't get it!
This is a great choice and we would definitely stay there again, but for 2 nights next time as Siena is stunning.
Nearly forgot, next to our room was a lovely roof terrace so if you have young children you can easily put them to bed and then sit out with a nice bottle of wine :-)

Room Tip: Quad room #54 was comfortable enough, the ritz it is not but Mrs Fussy, me, managed just fine.

Hotel was a bit hard to find, even though there are signs posted to help you. once we arrived the staff was was very helpful- got us a taxi and dinner reservations. room was basic overall- very clean and comfy. Shower had great water pressure. Great view from our deck though!! View was a highlight!! Air conditioning worked great! Breakfast was good too , and they were helpful with a late checkout complimentary!

Great location very close to Il Campo, right in the center of the walled city. Hard to reach by car given Sienas narrow streets. The hotel can organize a garage including valet service. Also, the staff gave us great recommendations about places for dinner and wine :)
