“Charming”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 May 2014

Extraordinary hospitality in the charming Siena. Ask for rooms with the view, if you are lucky to get the view; it will be exceptional. Perfect location to experience walking Siena to all landmarks. Tony is fabulous and extremely helpful and knowledgeable about available tours and activities to experience Siena.

Room Tip: Room with a view a must

We stayed on our trip through Italy and this has been one of our nicest hotels, the staff are very helpful. The hotel is in a great location close to everything. The room I had was fabulous with views across Siena. It was comfortable and spotless. Waking to the sound do birds and church bells on Sunday morning was very special. The breakfast is nice and fresh. Like most hotels it is a taxi ride from the station. The outdoor seating area was great to meet up with friends staying in the hotel.

Room Tip: I had a room on the top floor which meant going up stairs after the lift but it was beautiful. Could...

We stayed here last year while in Siena for the first time. A separate review for Siena itself would require pages of glowing love, and this hotel is the perfect home base in which to experience it. No, there is no parking at the hotel, but no hotel in the medieval zone has parking. It becomes a familiar ritual to park in the parking garage and walk the beautiful stone streets to this hotel. Check in and each day with the staff was professional courteous and charming. The walk is a perfect distance from the Piazza- and a beautiful walk at that. I will never forget the green wooden shuttered windows opening out to the tile rooftops everywhere, with so many church bells ringing at once, with the moody weather creating a atmosphere from that window to last a lifetime. The rooms aren't luxurious, just clean, comfortable, and perfectly adequate- the location doesn't require more-and we had everything we needed, including breakfast downstairs each morning. The world of Siena's medieval zone is right outside the door, with great access to the Duomo and restaurants. I would go back to this hotel anytime, and would live in Siena if I could!

My husband and I spent two glorious days in Siena during our recent tour of Italy (April 27-May 4). We booked Hotel Duomo based primarily on the Trip Advisor reviews rather than photos because reviews tell the true story. It is such a quaint establishment tucked away on one of the main village streets with very little frontage, so pictures cannot do it justice given that it's near impossible to get a sense of what you're getting into from photos alone. We were graciously welcomed when we arrived. The room was neat and tidy, yet simple, comfortable and somewhat old fashion. I will tell you though, when we opened the window and shutters beyond to let in some light, the view absolutely stole our breaths. It was like a picture postcard that suddenly made the accommodations spectacular. We had an early morning excursion scheduled on day two - had to be at the bus terminal by 6:00 a.m. Breakfast was not scheduled to begin until 7:30, so we just figured we'd skip it. Instead, the staff made arrangements to have breakfast ready for us by 5:20 with all the buffet accoutrements that everyone would enjoy later on. Sergio was fabulous, as were all the front desk/hotel personnel. Hotel Duomo is at the top of our list of favorite places to stay. The location was far enough off the beaten path that there was no noise factor, yet close enough to Il Campo and the hub of town that the walk was a breeze no matter what time of day. Would we stay there again? You better believe it!!

We stayed here for 4 nights and after travelling around other parts of Italy, found the room to be very spacious and comfortable. The hotel is in a great location, perfect for discovering all of the lovely streets in Siena. The staff are friendly and very helpful, they provided a great map of the city and directed us to some excellent view points. Breakfast was continental, with a decent selection to set you up for the day. I would definitely stay again.

We loved the location and the service was excellent. Our room was very clean and it was quiet at night. We enjoyed the breakfast and loved hearing the church bells. We were surprised that the paint was flaking and there was mold around the windows because the rest of the room was in pristine condition. Thanks for the large umbrellas!

Very friendly staff, spacious room, great shower with lots of space and good water pressure. They put our bikes in the garage. I would recommend this hotel. Breakfast was also pretty good. Just go andlet me know if you agree.
