I have just had an amazing holiday with Jamie and Diana and "The Walking Party" they showed us Rural Tuscany, fabulous picnics, and the views! Have been Amazing!

We stayed at The Duomo for 1 night, wish we could have had longer, and it was great being in the centre of the town, everything within reach, breakfast in the cellar has great atmosphere, our bathroom was modern and the decor of the room was good and clean, absolutely no complaints!

We had a cookery lesson whilst in Siena too, the hotel was very accommodating, good breakfast
Helpful staff, lovely big bedrooms and on the top floor a fabulous view of The Duomo, google the Walking party if you fancy an active holiday!

Room Tip: Ask for the top floor double room in the corner on the right.

Charming little place with a view of the Duomo (from certain corners). Clean rooms and modern looking bathrooms. Great friendly staff. Wonderful breakfast. In fact this is a place that has everything you can ask for!

If there is one complaint is about the lift - too slow. But one cannot expect cutting edge lift in a historic building. So that too is a part of the charm.

Room Tip: Had double glazed window - so it was quiet.

We stayed 3 nights at Hotel Duomo. I honestly do not think you could find a better hotel location in Siena. It is easy walking distance to both the Duomo and the Piazza Del Campo. Our room was quite plain but was very clean -- we did not have a view from our room but did go up to the roof top balcony one evening to enjoy a bottle of wine. Before booking I had read in other reviews that the beds were hard. I would definitely agree. If you are particular about your beds and pillows, be warned that these beds may not be up to your standards. The staff was always very friendly and helpful. We ate breakfast at the hotel, located in the basement, only one morning. It was very dark in the breakfast room and the breakfast consisted of mainly breads and fruit. We chose to have breakfast at other places during the remainder of our stay. If you are willing to give up some of the other comforts for the location during your stay, Hotel Duomo is a great choice.

Great location just around the corner from the Duomo and the Campo. Close to many restaurants. The room itself was large and somewhat nondescript at the end of rambling hallways. Breakfast was served in the cellar (a little bit claustrophobic), food was nice and service was good. Front staff was friendly and helpful.

The position of Hotel Duomo is simply amazing - close to the Duomo and the Campo, with fabulous views over the surrounding countryside. The atmosphere of the old palazzo is charming and the staff were the most helpful I have ever come across, making our short stay there a delight. Their help with onward rail bookings and recommendations of restaurants serving great local dishes was much appreciated. The breakfast selection could do with a little more variety but still a great hotel in a fabulous city.

This is surely the ideal hotel for those who want somewhere really central in Siena: it is literally just around the corner from the Duomo and only a few minutes further to the famous Campo. Originally a twelfth-century building, and rebuilt as a palazzo in the eighteenth, it has twenty rooms – two of which (61 and 62) have balconies with wonderful vistas that take in the nearby Cathedral and Palazzo Publico bell-towers. Reception staff, Toni and Paolo, are unfailingly helpful – with the former going to some trouble to chill our bottle of wine quickly on arrival and present it to us in an ice-bucket on our balcony table. Note too that they provide an efficient service for securely parking and then returning your car when you next want it – a service that removes the potential stress of driving, lost, through the crowded narrow streets of the pedestrianised city-centre. The continental-style breakfast was as good as we have recently had in much more pretentious establishments, and is delightfully looked after by Lucia and Caterina – who remembered our idiosyncratic requirements after only one day and generally enhanced our stay. To pass on a couple of staff recommendations: for dinner, try the traditional Antica Trattoria Papei in Piazza del Mercato (see separate review); and for a restorative trip out after cultural surfeit in the local museums and hill-towns, go to the beautiful ruined Abbey of San Galgano (c. 30 kms. south).

the house has a history, built first in medieval, rebuilt on the old basis in renaissance style.
You feel as a guest, the personel of the desk is allways helpfull. The room was confortable, after having a shower you have a bit a wet bath room. Location is perfect, near the highest point of Siena. It is also very quiet.
