“Perfect Location for the Palio”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 July 2014

We stayed 4 nights before, during and after the July Palio. The location is perfect to get to each of the contradas and experience the race and the neighborhood passion to the fullest. ... beautiful at all times of the day. The view outside of our window was of the Duomo, the gardens below and the hilsides outside the walls. We woke up to the birds singing and the bells tolling the time. It was a step back from our busy lives.
The staff was very helpful with recommendations throughout the city. the room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was included and included great coffee, good granola and crosaints. If the opportunity arises in the future, we will stay again!

Room Tip: Definately ask for a room with a view of the Duomo

My husband and I just had our second stay at the Hotel Duomo. We were accompanied by 14 high school students and a colleague. Our first stay, two years ago, was excellent. This one was no different. We were greeted by a lovely women who speaks English, Russian, Italian, and several other languages, I'm sure. She was courteous and helpful, and she made our check-in process easy. Her colleague, Tony, was wonderful, also. He was very kind, and it was always a pleasure to interact with him. The rooms were beautiful and immaculate; the housekeeping staff we encountered were polite and diligent. Ours had a spectacular view of the Duomo. The daily breakfast was delicious and served fantastic coffee. The staff there were great, too. The hotel has character and charm, and it is centrally located. I would recommend it to anyone traveling to Siena, which is a magnificent spot. Grazie mille!

We stayed only a night in Siena. The perfect location and the quietness of the hotel and the very knowledgeable and friendly staff made our stay very pleasant.
The room was spacious for Italian standings, simple but nicely prepared, very comfortable and quite. The staff gave us some awesome advice to find a succulent typical restaurant few meters away from the hotel.
The location is just amazing allowing visiting the centro storico at nigth as much as during the day without wondering about public transport or finding a taxi.
Just a perfect stay. We'll definitely go back if we can.

I have just had an amazing holiday with Jamie and Diana and "The Walking Party" they showed us Rural Tuscany, fabulous picnics, and the views! Have been Amazing!

We stayed at The Duomo for 1 night, wish we could have had longer, and it was great being in the centre of the town, everything within reach, breakfast in the cellar has great atmosphere, our bathroom was modern and the decor of the room was good and clean, absolutely no complaints!

We had a cookery lesson whilst in Siena too, the hotel was very accommodating, good breakfast
Helpful staff, lovely big bedrooms and on the top floor a fabulous view of The Duomo, google the Walking party if you fancy an active holiday!

Room Tip: Ask for the top floor double room in the corner on the right.

Charming little place with a view of the Duomo (from certain corners). Clean rooms and modern looking bathrooms. Great friendly staff. Wonderful breakfast. In fact this is a place that has everything you can ask for!

If there is one complaint is about the lift - too slow. But one cannot expect cutting edge lift in a historic building. So that too is a part of the charm.

Room Tip: Had double glazed window - so it was quiet.

We stayed 3 nights at Hotel Duomo. I honestly do not think you could find a better hotel location in Siena. It is easy walking distance to both the Duomo and the Piazza Del Campo. Our room was quite plain but was very clean -- we did not have a view from our room but did go up to the roof top balcony one evening to enjoy a bottle of wine. Before booking I had read in other reviews that the beds were hard. I would definitely agree. If you are particular about your beds and pillows, be warned that these beds may not be up to your standards. The staff was always very friendly and helpful. We ate breakfast at the hotel, located in the basement, only one morning. It was very dark in the breakfast room and the breakfast consisted of mainly breads and fruit. We chose to have breakfast at other places during the remainder of our stay. If you are willing to give up some of the other comforts for the location during your stay, Hotel Duomo is a great choice.

Great location just around the corner from the Duomo and the Campo. Close to many restaurants. The room itself was large and somewhat nondescript at the end of rambling hallways. Breakfast was served in the cellar (a little bit claustrophobic), food was nice and service was good. Front staff was friendly and helpful.
