Friends and I rented this apt. In a quiet residential neighborhood but minutes from the Duomo for two weeks while attending an Italian language school. The on line pictures do not give it justice -it is simply huge, comfortable, tastefully furnished with antiques, and, best of all, it has incredibile views of the countryside. I had trouble falling asleep (or doing my homework!) because I just could not stop looking at the view, listening to the distant church bells. The 15th (16th?) century Palazzo that the apt. Is located in is next to a lovely church (12-13th century) that is the church of the Pantera Contrada. I went to Mass there one Sat. Night and was astonished to see the contrada flags displayed along the sides of the church. The couple who own the Palazzo are charming. We were invited up to their apt. In the Palazzo twice during our stay and had a lovely time. And she made us homemade peach preserves which didn't take us long to finish! Did I mention it has WiFi and a washer/dryer? And w/in minutes of the apt. are 3 restaurants, including one with a garden overlooking the countryside and with a view of the Duomo. We had wonderful meals at these restaurants. Staying here will spoil you and is more like having an authentic Sienese experience than renting an apt.

This is a very special and unique place. While the website gives some idea of its sophistication and elegance, it is even better than that -- in addition to being elegant, it is supremely comfortable. There are three large bedrooms (one a twin), a smaller room (suitable for a child) and a living room with superb views over the walls to the surrounding countryside, a fully equipped kitchen and two bathrooms. The area of Siena (the Pantera contrada) is perfect -- away from the crowds, but ten minutes walk to the Duomo. There are a number of good trattorias in the immediate neighborhood, as well as interesting shops on one of the streets leading to the Duomo. The owner and his lovely family were extremely hospitable and charming. On top of all that, it is very reasonable priced, especially considering the high quality. In fact, the only negative is --we had to leave! I can enthusiastically recommend the palazzo fineschi sergardi to anyone wanting a special experience in Siena, and hope to return again soon.

Room Tip: They're all great!

i stayed in this apartment for two weeks while attending a nearby Italian language school. The apartment far surpassed expectations and our hosts, Guido and Christina Fineschi Sergardi, were warm, charming, and helpful with any issue. Located in an ancient palazzo, the apartment provided beautiful views of the countryside, large, comfortable rooms, and a well-equipped kitchen in which we did a lot of cooking and eating. We felt very much at home there and enjoyed the quiet neighborhood within easy walking distance of the center of the city. I would not consider staying anywhere else in future visits to Siena; there really could not be a better home away from home than this one!

My sister and I booked this apartment for just two of us as we were struggling to find two rooms in the same hotel and were lucky indeed to find last minute availability. We had to pay for 4 but had free range of the whole apartment which includes to generously sized double rooms and one twin together with a couple of rather basic singles suitable for a child or a maid or Nanny. We made use of both well appointed bathrooms. There is also a third guest WC.

All rooms have superb views over the Tuscan hils from the edge of the city and yet the apartment is only minutes walk form the Duomo and the Campo. There are ample shops nearby. Covered Parking (€30 a day) is about ten minutes walk but you can drive outside for loading and unloading and driving access is easy via Porto San Marco. Just follow the signs to the Parking Duomo...Insde the apartment is spacious and well furnished wiht a mix of antiques and heirlooms combined with comfortable IKEA sofas and chairs. The large kitchen is well equpped with fridge, freezer and dishwasher. There is no microwave but they are not popular in Italy. There were ample frying pans and one saucepan, No ovenware but the owner is on site wnd would I am sure provide anything extra required (he found us an iron in a few minutes).

The owner is attentive without being intrusive and we had a ost enjoyable aperatif on the family terrace one evening.

It is difficult to eat well in Siena so we enjoyed the opportunity to self cater. There are perfectly adequate local restaurants but none we would especially recommend. We liked the pastry shop almost opposite the apartment!

There is free Wifi and plenty of TV channels including BBC World (now pretty dreadful but CNN and ZDF are also avalable if you do not speak Italian). This is a family apartment albeit with its own private entrance. There is some noise from other apartments above, but only really a few footfalls, and occasionally the sound of a rather talented pianist who we enjoyed hearing...but were assured was not allowed to practice late at night - and certainly we never heard him do so. All in all we were just so lucky to find this place available. If oyu are equally lucky my advice would be not to hesitate - it is one of a kind and will not be empty long. Our thanks go to Sig. Fineschi Sergardi for making us welcome in his lovely family house.

The Palace was wonderful for our family of 6, it was inside the city walls and minutes from Siena's wonderful Il Campo and other scenic attractions. Our hosts were very accommodating and the charm and decor of the Palazzo (along with the views of Tuscana hills) was great. We hope to return someday.

Our family of 5 (including 3 adult children) LOVED this apartment on the edge of historical Siena. Located in a palazzo that was once a monastery, it's spacious and elegant (but still comfortable) with everything we needed for a short stay - including breakfast supplies. We woke to the sound of church bells and birds in the trees outside our windows and the views from some of the rooms are breathtaking. Our host was charming and helpful; we couldn't have asked for more.

We went to Siena for a long weekend with a child in tow. Very large apartment (> 1800 sqft, > 170 sqm) with period furniture and all required amenities (Nespresso, full kitchen and Wifi, ), short walk to Piazza del Campo. Wonferful view from the bedrooms out of town to the surrounding countryside. Unbeateable value for money!
