The church run hotel is just tucked in around San Domenico church. Make sure to get off there if you take the bus. Our room had a spectacular view. Internet access was easily available and the breakfast was very good. Be sure to take the bus tour- we took the San Gimignano/Chianti tour and loved it. The Wednesday street fair at the square was very good. We bought some nice things at fair prices. July, 2012

We just stayed at this hotel and loved the location because it has the best view of the city! I sat in my balcony and gazed upon the beauty of the city for long periods of time! They also had a great breakfast in the morning! If you are going to Siena, stay here!

Very simple and elementary hotel. The rooms are simple and have almost nothing but a bed and night lamp beside it. The shower is ok but nothing more. The room is very spartan and has just what you need to sleep at night and wake early in the morning to travel but nothing more. If you are looking for something more convenient romantic or warm this is not the place. The staff was ok and the Internet wifi is not expensive. The location is good - near the bus station and short walking distance from the attractions in Siena. there are nice restaurants near the hotel.

Are there hotels closer to the main piazza? Yes. Are there hotels with better views? Probably. But is there a hotel with spotless rooms, awesome breakfast, great views, accomodative front desk, awesome breakfast, and dedicated staff, at this price??? Unheard of! Nuff said. Oh, did I mention the breakfast?

I enjoyed the most peaceful and wonderful stay at the monastery Alma Domus. The location could not have been more perfect (7 min walk to the main bus station, 2 min walk to the Basilica of St. Catherine and a less than 10 min walk to the main center of town and the Duomo).

The accommodations were simple, clean and comfortable. The only two drawbacks were the organization of the bathroom - the bidet took up so much room and the shower head is located over it and is not the most comfortable shower / bathroom setup. The room is a comfortable size, and my room (#27) had a balcony and a fantastic view of the Duomo and city.

The breakfasts are simple continental style with juice / coffee / tea, yogurts, breads, croissants and cereal, but was more than adequate to fill you up for the morning.

The only bummer is that they do charge for wi-fi access (€1 for 30 min, or €5 for 3 hours). In this day and age, it is nice to get free wi-fi, but it wasn't the biggest deal.

I would definitely stay here again upon coming to Siena, especially as a solo traveler (which I was at this time).

Room Tip: I stayed in room #27 (one floor below the main reception) and loved it -- there is a small balcony a...

I stayed in this hotel for nearly a week as part of a group attending a conference. The view from my room was phenomenal (of the Duomo and hillside). The location is in the old city, steps from San Domenico and close to the bus station (take the bus to Siena, not the train, which is outside of town and a 10 euro taxi ride). It's easy to walk down to the Piazza del Campo, or up to the Duomo from here. Each are a 5-10 minute walk from the hotel. Siena is hilly generally, so if you do sight-seeing be prepared for the hills.

The continental breakfast in the morning is well provided with coffee, juice, some fruit and pastries. It's generally quiet, although one night there were some rowdy backpackers that kept me up for awhile in the middle of the night. Also, be prepared that the cathedral bells start to ring at 7am (they also chime on the hour all night), so if you leave your window open you might want to be a deep sleeper. The air-con was nice.
