We had a nice stay at Hotel Alma Domus. Our room had a great view. Spacious bathroom, which is hard to come by in Italy! Someone is at the desk 24 hrs a day. The breakfast was very nice. It's in the lower level of the building and offers a nice spread. Location was pretty good. We were able to walk to hotel from bus station (we took bus in and out of Siena). We were able to leave our luggage in a locked room the day we were departing, which was great. My only complaint would be the Wifi. It was super spotty and did not work well at all. If this is important to you, then do not book here, because another couple that we met said they couldn't get the wifi to work at all for them. We only stayed one night, so we were not bothered much by the spotty wifi.

Dear Neenza,
thank you for choosing Hotel Alma Domus and for writing this kind review about us.
It's very nice reading you appreciated our breakfast, our renovated bathroom, our luggage store, our room with amazing view.I am sorry to the poor functioning of the wifi but if he had reported the problem when you were still at the hotel we could probably fix the problem; In any case I would like to point out to everyone that WIFI works perfectly and it's free as already reported correctly by other guests.

kind regards
Dr. Louis Locco

We stayed for two nights and the view from our room was beautiful. The room was a good size and had a decent sized bathroom with an oil column heaterf which keep us toasty warm. The reception staff lady wasnt very friendly but still helpful. Wifi worked fine. The breakfast was ok, the coffee was ok too. It would be nice if they played some background music in the breakfast area. it is so quiet people are nervously whispering to each other! Overall good stay.

We stayed in Room 10 in October, 2013. What a view! Room size was very nice (after Paris) Also, the halls, public areas, outside patio are nicely roomy. Hotel was clean, updated looking and there were nice wood floors. Included breakfast was average. Get good directions--this place is not the easiest to find though it is well located to everything (Sienna is not that big, but get a map first thing) You can roll your bag to the bus station from here. We paid about $90.00 a night. Note: there will be a number of steps (up and down) to get into this place.

Room Tip: Book early and ask for room "con vista" The view rooms are on the same level as the front...

I would recommend a superior room with a balcony and great views. Room 7 was excellent. The quality for the price paid was excellent. Staff were enthusiastic and helpful. Location was great - just 5 minutes to the Duomo and the Campo. Breakfast was adequate - cappuccino available on request. I was expecting to arrive late and the staff were totally helpful about this. Often smaller establishments don't have this flexibility. Bus terminal is 5 minutes.

Room Tip: Room 7 or any of the top floor rooms with a balcony.

This was a wonderful little hotel. It's within a 5 minute walk to major sites and great restaurants. We stayed in room 8 which incorporated fantastic views. I would definitely upgrade to the rooms with a balcony. I say balcony, it's not much bigger than a Juliet balcony but still worth the upgrade. We slept with the window open to enjoy the fresh air, but do beware of road noise etc. it is a city after all. The breakfast was slim at best but something we got used to traveling through Italy. They provided coffee, to-go croissants, fruit and cereal. I'm rating this hotel a 5 stars because of the convenience, value, and the incredible views of the city. It was absolutely fantastic. Another perk was free wifi. We did have to go up go up to the front to get another login code but that was a big deal at all. Would stay here again in a heartbeat!

Room Tip: Get the upgraded room with balcony that faces the duomo.

We spent two nights here during Easter week. We were in room #10 which had a balcony and the most spectacular view of Siena's Cathedral and Torre del Mangia. Not all rooms have a view so be sure to ask for a "view room" when booking. The location seems out of the way but once we oriented ourselves to the city it was actually closer to everything than we initially thought. The rooms are efficient, clean and no nonsense. Breakfast was a rather uninspired so we opted out day two and picked up breakfast at a great coffee house called Torrefazione Fiorella. Price, location, comfort, cleanliness all made this a great selection. By far, this is the best one star hotel I've ever experienced!

Room Tip: Ask for rooms with view!

Although we visited Siena during Easter (it's pretty crowded everywhere), we were surprised to find a really quiet place, yet in the center of the city.
The view was amazing, the room spacious, clean and modern, the stuff really friendly, and the breakfast, oh boy, there were so many different delicious homemade cakes, that it was so difficult to decide!
The only negative remark is the single dose packets of gel shower, it was difficult to open. And the plastic plates and glasses during breakfast, really not for the standard of the hotel.
