After visiting Sienna we went into this restaurant for dinner. We sat at the back in a small conservatory type area which was surrounded by trees. My husband had pasta with wild boar sauce and I tried the gnocchi with gorgonzola & walnuts. Both were VERY good and filling, we didn't have room for dessert!

Although we were the only customers when we walked in, by the time we left the restaurant was almost full with local diners - always a good endorsement. The atmosphere was warm & friendly and the waiting staff excellent.

Siena- a beautiful city but has the worst pizzerias in the world! Firstly, they don't cook the pizzas or the pasta or even my grilled chicken breast. Really, we paid 56.00 euros for the worst meal of my life! I have worked and eaten in many restaurants in my day but this pizzeria really was soooo expensive and the quality of the food sooo substandard. To be avoided at all cost!

When people ask me where to go in Siena for pizza, I generally answer - Siena is not the place to eat pizza. But if you must, there are a few decent places. This restaurant is located by the Siena north highway exit. While the restaurant serves a full complement of dishes (of which I have sampled quite a few in my 50+ visits), I would only recommend it for pizza. In fact, it is one of the very few places I would visit if I want a pizza. Neapolitan style (as the owners), so think puffy rims. My favorites are Stellino and Ciaccino Roy (a ciaccino is a pizza without tomato sauce). Service is efficient at best (think high turnover) and ironic at worst. While they are very used to tourists, beware that you will not find the staff working hard for their tip. You can also queue up at the counter for pizza take-away. Pizza is evening food, so if you come here for lunch be prepared to eat something else (i.e. there is no pizza).
