Located in the centre of Siena, the hotel is convenient and has lots of character. The character however hasn't been updated in over 30 years.
The rooms are a good size and the bathrooms have updated features. The furniture is worn but still passable.
A question arises when the night staff deliver earplugs during the even turndown service. Starting at 6:30am and continuing each 30 minutes until 8am you'll be welcomed to the day by the church bells (and thus the earplugs).
The views are lovely and the daily breakfast offers a nice selection of breads and pastries, eggs, meats and cheeses and of course coffee. The morning staff are pleasant and smoothly enter, service and leave without you even being aware they were there.
If you stay in the old city, this hotel is the best there is. If you want a more comfortable and flexible stay, I recommend staying at one of the many lovely hotels located throughout the countryside.More
