“Bar at hotel garden.”
Reviewed 28 October 2013

Hey! We found the bar and bartender Altu to be the hidden delight! His jazz selections and delicious finger food on the bar and unpublished bar menu were a welcome relief from the over priced and stuffy hotel restaurant! Ordered the mixed canapies in the restaurant and received something on hard bread that had no resemblance to a canopy! Be sure to go for the bar!

Dear Don W,
Atla is the core of this hotel, we are so proud to work with him every day and we are so glad that our guests are
Feeling good and enjoying and tasting every moment at Hotel Garden.
Every year our bar and its terrace become from springtime to the fall the main attraction of Siena, our ample terrace with its view on the city is overcrowded and full of life. It is the perfect place to relax and taste each day at our Hotel.
Thanks again for leaving your opinions on Trip Advisor.

We stayed in Hotel Garden for 2 nights and found it utterly delightful. It is set in beautiful premises with a lot of greenery around. The terrace adjoining the restaurant has widespread views of Siena and the countryside.

The room (in the annex) was good size, cozy and comfortable. No views.

The staff was very very helpful and informative, speak in English and went out of their way to make our stay comfortable. We got a free upgrade too! We took the Brunello wine tour which the hotel staff promptly arranged for us. It was my husband's birthday and I am really grateful to the staff who went out of their way to make it memorable for us.

Breakfast served was plentiful, varied, and offered many choices. Too many cakes for my taste though! We had two meals at the restaurant, not many options but good value for money.

The hotel has ample parking and is outside the city walls which we didn't realise and we travelled around mostly by bus/train. The train station is a short taxi ride away, there is a bus too. City centre is walkable, if you have the time else there are bus stops nearby.

Overall, very pleased with Hotel Garden and would highly recommend!

Negative: wi-fi is free only for the first hour. For a hotel this big, I would have expected free wi-fi!

Dear amti_p7,
Thanks from all our staff for the nice words you are spending. We are glad you appreciated our job and our hotel, our breakfast and our facilities.
Hotel Garden is the ideal place to stay when you want to see the Chianti Area and the Brunello Area, which are amongst the most famous wine areas in the world.

We planned a two night stay in Siena and on the second day of our visit, I broke my foot! After a trip to the ER, x-rays, I hobbled back to the hotel on crutches and wearing a boot. The staff could not have been nicer and more accommodating. Alta, the bartender, was my angel. More than once he assisted with icing my foot while providing me a delicious painkiller, Cuban rum! We extended our stay one more night and all the staff pitched in to accommodate our needs.

The hotel itself is a bit worn and the dining menu is limited. Amazing views from the very large outdoor terrace. An easy 20 minute walk into town [if you're not on crutches]. Front desk staff were very helpful and informative. Upon arrival we were given the best welcome with staff taking all the time we needed to make sure we had all the information we required.

By the way, the ER visit was free! Amazing! Perhaps we Americans can learn something from our lovely Italian friends! [But first we'll have to wait until America is open again.]

Dear Joan B,
i hope you already threw crutches away and got soon already…. The only things I suppose you are missing is our top painkiller “Cuban Rum” and Atlas’ cure….. just kidding!... we really are so happy that you felt and appreciated the work we are trying to do at our best every day and we are happy you felt good with us in spite of your foot accident.
Hope to see you again next year, i promise you only cocktails without ER!

While we have enjoyed staying "inside the walls" in Siena in past trips, the stay at this hotel selected for our conference this year was a pleasant surprise. The staff throughout our stay were professional, pleasant and extremely responsive. This included staff at the front desk, in the restaurant, bars and terrace and conference food service area as well as housekeeping staff. The grounds are lovely, conveniently located to buses and a walkable (45 minutes) distance to the Campo. The food is generous, well priced and the included breakfast is diverse in its offerings for varied tastes and expectations. I would recommend this for anyone looking for a nice hotel outside of the walls or for accommodating a group or small conference.

Dear FlowGirl7,

sometimes unexpected things surprise us most than others and I am glad the Hotel Garden was such a beautiful surprise to you.

From many years our hotel is the top location for meeting and congresses in Siena, with its meeting rooms and banquet spaces up to 400 persons and its huge free parking places, it is the main goal for those who want to organize congresses, conventions, meetings coming from all over the world.

Hotel Garden is easy to be reached and allow clients to work in the day and to relax in the night, the perfect mix!

A personal thanks from our staff and from me for choosing our hotel for your Conference. We are at your disposal for any future need you may have.

Regards

We found all staff to be very helpful and efficient, all the breakfasts were good although the cooked items were at all times luke warm, we ate 1 meal in the evening and found the food good, and reasonable value. It would also be good to be made aware of the very limited or sometimes non available parking in the city center, no milk in the room for tea and coffee.
We would recommend this hotel.

Good location and about a 20 to 25 minute stroll into the centre of Siena. Very helpful staff and good facilities available. Driving into Siena to the hotel can be a bit tricky so plan your route in advance.

Great location on the outskirts of Siena if you are driving. Free parking with your stay and the bus stops right outside the hotel to take you into Siena. Front desk staff were awesome and went above and beyond to assist you with your needs and they all speak English. Only complaint is the Wifi. They give you 1 hour free everyday but we kept getting kicked off it in our room so it was really useless to us You spent the whole time trying to get back on. Really should offer free Wifi throughout the hotel like every other place in Italy does. We stayed at hotels 1/8 the size of this place with free Wifi. Makes for a much more pleasant and stress free stay when you are able to connect with family in another country to let know you are okay.
