Due to previous comments I had big expectations, but my personal experience was pretty disappointing. Main building is an elegant old villa but the courtyard is literally invaded by customer cars. It would be definitely better to allow parking only in the big hotel parking in the rear. My room was in a side building and it was very noisy: I could hear clearly what happened in near rooms and slamming doors woke me up early in the morning. Breakfast choice is vast but not charming at all: no real orange juice, a machine to dispose cappuccino and, even, a machine to dispose yoghurt. The terrace offers a beautiful view of Siena center (not at walking distance) but if you plan to have an aperitivo there train your patience: the waiter is shared with the restaurant and we waited more than 15 minutes to be noticed and additional 15 to be served. Price is fair but I would not choose it again.

Wonderful grounds, views, ambience but classic room was in a 1970s concrete bunker with damp wall damage and poor light. We upgraded to a superior room which was just about acceptable. 25 minute walk from main town but taxis easy to find. Tuscany itself is a fairytale land of ancient Castilli and rolling olive groves, travelling early September was a good choice, not too hot and not too crowded.

We were a large family group across 3 generations. The hotel was great value for 3 nights
Location is a 40 min Walk to the city centre or there is a regular bus service. With a swimming pool in the garden the hotel has everything - relaxing space in the city

The bar was great. Dinner was terrific and some of the party had day time snacks.
I have long believed that Italian breakfasts are the best. The Garden hotels breakfast may not have been the best in Italy but it too was great and best of all had wonderful coffee

We had booked our accommodation with booking.com and given that we were 7 rooms it may have been better to book direct with the hotel. Booking.com and the hotel appeared to have miscommunicated name changes on the bookings. However the hotel reception although confused at check in and check out were very gracious and bookings were updated with confusion and a smile

Rooms are typically small and not what would be seen in Ireland as 4* but matched the price paid -so ideal

The original house and public area are lovely and also comfortable. Wonderful stay and would definitely return

We stayed three nights here, taking two adjacent rooms in the main house. As others have said, the property is very pretty, the pool area is large, the terrace has great views and the bar and bar staff really allow you to make the most of the terrace and the views of Siena. In addition the rooms were of a decent size and were well looked after. So far so good.

On the downside, breakfast was rammed every day so it was hard to find a table. The food is plentiful but very much tipped towards the sweet end of the spectrum. I get that this is Italy but there was little more than eggs and cheese on the savoury side. The hotel overall is quite tired though I appreciate that this is partly the shabby chic style of some continental estate hotels. Final grumble was that you have to keep your pool towel for two days before they will replace it. Our rooms resembled a laundry each evening as we tried to find space to dry five large towels.

Overall it was a good experience and good value for money and we would return if visiting Siena but some small ways to improve the experience.
