It doesn't get much better than to be able to open your window and see Siena. This hotel is beautifully sited to see The old city.
In the morning, pull the curtain back and watch the swallows dip into the valley and over the hills of Siena. The old city is all there in front of you and you can wander your way up to it past Roman baths. The whole hotel, from the service at the front desk, the cleanliness, the comfort of the beds and the good breakfast makes this a much more enjoyable stay than the 4 star we stayed at last night.

We have just returned from a short stay in Siena at the Hotel Minerva. Our journey from Pisa airport was trouble free thanks to good advice received on this site. The Minerva is ideally placed for seeing the sites being a short walk from the centre.of the old town. The hotel is beautifully clean and the breakfast was very good indeed apart from the very watered down orange juice,
Our only problem was noise, we were kept awake most of one night, there seems to be no insulation between rooms as what is happening in one is clearly audible in the next, we were party to a heated argument. This said however when we spoke to reception they acknowledged that noise was an issue and gave us another room which was very much better. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. A very enjoyable trip.

Room Tip: we were given room five after noise problem and it was certainly quieter than the one originally all...

Dear Joan,

many thanks for your commentary. We are very happy that you appreciated our efferts to solve the problems that can happen during the stay of our guests.
We are aware that we have the problem of the sound heard from one room to the other.
We are trying to solve the problem, but it is not easy because being an historical building, we are not allowed to do dramatic interventions.
Kind regards from the Hotel Minerva's staff

When we first got to the hotel, the people were so generous and kind. It was late, and I had snuck into the breakfast room to grab a banana (which I knew I shouldn't have done) but the man at the service desk saw me sneak in and brought me a plate and knife and asked if I wanted to grab anything else to eat. So sweet! The rooms were average and clean, but the hotel is centrally located and the staff is very nice!

Really great reasonably-priced hotel. Comfortable rooms, breakfast was very good, staff very welcoming. Easy to get to the old part of Siena. Would suggest getting bus or taxi to get to hotel as it is a uphill climb. Great pizza restaurant opposite.

The Hotel is located 5 blocks from the historic center. You have a great balcony with an amazing view of Old Siena. Remember to ask for the superior rooms that shares this special atribute.
The Room and the bathroom are really big, as for Europe standards.
Breakfast maybe a week point, but everything else really great, really nice and clean. Great Value, as it is not an expensive one. Nice rest during nightime, very quiet.

Room Tip: Choose superior room with balcony, you won´t regret it!

Good location, about 10-15minutes walk from the historic centre, although this will involve an uphill climb to get there.

The room is on the small side, though clean and comfortable enough. The view from our first floor room was incredible - a panoramic view of the city.

On the downside, the bed covers looked like they could be hand-me-downs from granny. The walls also seemed to be paper thin and you could hear the TV in the next room.

The service was ok. It seemed to depend on who was at the front desk - some were friendlier than others.

Other info:
Parking costs EUR12 a night.
Wi-Fi cost EUR3 per 12 hours, but there is a computer in the lobby should you not wish to purchase wi-fi.
Hairdryer was pretty rubbish.
