This is a really lovely hotel. Only stayed for one night but it was just fantastic. Little bit of difficulty finding it, I thought we would see the coop supermarket from the road but it was sunk down a little bit.

The gardens here are lovely. The swimming pool isn't open until June, but it looked nice! The room was nice, clean, fresh. The staff were exceptional, really couldn't do enough.

Breakfast was great and on the evening we arrived they had a happy hour on with wines and a buffet that was fab.

I'd recommend this, it's worth it. I'd certainly go back, but I'd stay a bit longer next time!

We stayed in the Borgo Grondai apartment during our stay in Siena. It was the cutest apartment and definitely gave you the feel of being in Tuscany. The staff went above and beyond to make our stay so comfortable. It felt like we were at home.
The apartment we stayed in had two bedrooms, one with a "french bed" and the other a king. The "french bed" was the size of a standard double on American terms and was more than enough space for a couple to share.
The breakfasts were included and were AMAZING. They had fresh made pastries that were so good. We ate every morning and the quality of the food was excellent.
The staff was very helpful. They would call cabs for us (I didn't realize Siena was so hilly), book dinner reservations and give recommendations. They provided great maps and offered suggestions on everything we asked.
It was a great experience and we will definitely stay here again.

I had the pleasure of staying in this wonderful hotel last August with 3 friends during the Palio Festival. Siena is an amazing town both day and night and was the highlight of our 11 day holiday in Italy. It's the perfect location for touring around Tuscany. Our rooms were really lovely, clean and serviced everyday. The service at Borgo Grondaie was superb. The satff were friendly, courteous and went out of their way to help and advise us. The choice of food at breakfast was the best I have come across. It was a pleasure starting each morning sitting out under the morning sun, eating delicious food, sipping a cup of coffee and planning our day ahead or in the evening before travelling into town for dinner we relaxed with a glass of wine. The Coop store on the way up to the hotel was very handy for buying any items we needed i.e. water, fruit etc. We certainly didn't feel that it took from the hotel. I really couldn't fault Borgo Grondaie and it's staff in any way. I will definately be returning to Siena and Borgo Grondaie.

We spent 3 nights in room 106. The room was clean, a decent size by European standards and the bed comfortable. The bathroom offered Etro toiletries and slippers. A complimentary bottle of still and sparkling water was placed in our bar fridge each day.

Breakfast was included and FANTASTIC. Apart from pastries, cereals, fresh meats etc there were savoury pies and freshly baked cakes and tarts. There is a bar onsite but no restaurant so if you want a meal you have to take a taxi.

The team is highly customer focused and made suggestions for local touring, provided clear and accurate directions to walk to the Old Town and suggested one of our trip's favourite restaurants, La Compagnia dei Vinattieri, we opted for the 5 course degustation for 35 euros per head and it was phenomenal.

There is onsite free parking. Check out their website which has loads of useful information.

If you want to be close to the Old Town this may not be the property for you as it is a good 20 minute walk. The hotel also overlooks the rail lines which was the only aspect I didn't enjoy. There is a large grocery store a few minutes walk away.

I thought the room rate was quite expensive for a 3 star and it was more expensive than great deals I obtained on 4 and 5 star properties.

The approach is through a loading dock of the COOP supermarket and from certain apartments you will be overlooking a trainyard. We chose this place based on being close to the train station as we did not have a car, but did not realize it was so close to the tracks. From the descriptions we read it looked to be a country resort outside of Siena - not really the case. The "park like" setting was overshadowed by the walk up to the property and overlooking the trains/apartment buildings of Siena. If you are looking for a "true Tuscan experience" we'd suggest trying another place. We stayed in a lower level apartment and could hear every sound from upstairs, the stair case nearby and anyone walking by. Also we chose this particular apartment because it had a couch and extra sitting room. The sitting room had no natural light and may as well have been in a basement. Our original intent was to spend a week here and we left after a night!

Dear Sir,
I am very surprised about your wrongful review about Borgo Grondaie.
You wrote us many times before confirming your reservation and we took special care in answering with the most detailed information.
Above all we explained:
- apartment layout that we had available for the dates you had required (New Year Season). We suggested you also to go to our official site to see apartment pictures (we have pictures and plans of all our apartments in our web site);
- the view from the apartment: onto our gardens and not onto the old town. It’s true, from some rooms, not from your, you can see also a portion of the tracks. We have neither negated this nor the reviews of our guests.
- to switch to another apartment with balcony after 2 nights stay (at your arrival date the apartment with balcony was busy) at a higher rate (euro 23 more a day). It was a bigger apartment.
I was on duty on your arrival and I showed you both apartments. You was very kind and grateful but didn’t tell me anything.
Only now I become acquainted with your complains. I can’t solve the problems now. I think that your review is misleading for our next guests.
Just last remark: we are not a ‘resort’ (maybe on summer it seems like that because of the sunny weather and the swimming pool). We are a three stars hotel located in Siena, 1 km far from the train station and 2 minutes by walk from the biggest store in Siena (COOP). People who book for apartments said that this is a real plus for self catering solutions.

This was our home base in Tuscany. We rented a car and drove all around.

Our room was nice enough but we had views of the train station. The bathroom was odd as frosted glass covered the top portion of the sliding door. You better be comfortable with who you're staying with as you can easily be seen.

The staff were often friendly and helpful.

The bed was the highlight. This was our most comfortable bed of the trip.

For a place to only sleep, this was fine. It wasn't too expensive and central to Siena. We had a car but I know buses or an ugly walk would get you there easily. We were there in winter so the summer pool and the outside activities were not that available to us.

I might stay here again if the price were right. I might try a more central Siena place next time.

We stayed here as part of my wedding & honeymoon travelling Italy.

As most have commentated hotel is excellent.

On arrival in our room was a lovely bottle of wine which is a nice touch.

The pool was fantastic a real luxury feel especially as it overlooks the hillsides of Siena.

Siena itself is a place to just relax and enjoy the atmosphere together with the Tuscan food which was magnificent!!!

The receptionist gave us a few restaurants to try and one that I really remember was on the street at the far right hand side of piazza del campo, which had fantastic Tuscan food.

The only down side is the location as it is a good 20 minutes walk uphill into Siena, but a taxi cost about 10 euro's. I didn’t think this was an issue as you can work off the amount of food you’ve ate!
