When American sports fans are in Europe for extended periods and after many basilicas, towers and piazzas (all wonderful, of course), this is what we find. Basketball (or so called 'Basket' in Siena).
Easy to locate on map with address. From main bus stop (coming from Firenze anyway), it is basically one main road winding through residential area to outer edge of city to the arena. Good sidewalks whole walk.
10 euros per ticket. Buy ticket at arena before game. General admission only. Means upper bowl. Pick a seat. Every seat is a good seat in this small arena. Upper bowl a non-issue.
Large crowd. Loud. Enthusiastic. Great sportsmanship with opposing fans. Crowd made up of young and old. Couples, singles, families. Would be great for anyone traveling through.
Four ten minute quarters. Fifteen minute half. No commercial breaks. Unless there is a timeout, it is play, play, play. Game over 1.5 hours later. Our team ... (Okay so we live in Seattle, Washington. Since our team was stolen in the middle of the night, we will quickly adopt any team not called OKC Thunder!) ... won by the way in final 10 seconds by two off a beautiful 3-pointer.
Food/drink crazy expensive (just like in the U.S. at a game)
WC (restrooms) available, I'm guessing.
Not easy without Italian. We managed though. Staff hit or miss.
