the staff is absolutely great and helpful, it's a good place where to spend a night sorrounded by hills of chianti while swimming in the pool. But highway very close from the pool, breakfast small and rooms not really on a hotel level. Not worth the money considering other options around. Check out 10 am, no delay!!!

Great room, very helpful staff, lovely pool, lovely breakfast!

Only down side is that you can hear the main road along the whole valley when outside (the house is on a hill looking over the valley and not near the road). But it didn't bother us enough to disturb sleep etc.

Best place we stayed at for out whole trip. Lovely setting and great facilities. Beautiful house and great views. The family is very friendly and helpful. Convenient as only 10 minute drive to Siena but feels as if you are in the countryside. We were allowed to use the barbeque facilities one night which was a nice break from eating out. The only downside is that there is a noisy motorway close by

Room Tip: Wifi is the best in rooms close to the office

The villa is situated at the periphery of Siena but at only 5km from the historical center.
It has a swimming pool and an outdoor grill.
The room was clean and the bed had a very good mattress so we slept very well.
Breakfast, contrary to what you may expect in Italy (croissant and coffee), was composed of cereals, boiled eggs, cheese and finely sliced salami, gems and butter, juice and cookies, fruit salad and an exquisite cappuccino, so thumbs up for that!
The owners Roberto and Angela ware quite helpful in indicating the best itinerary to visit Chianti and in pointing out some of the best restaurants in town. When visiting these restaurants we received discounts for presenting a visit card that said Casale Virgili.
The villa has wireless internet with reception in allmost all areas and you can pay by credit card.
Carefull that the address entered in the GPS leaves you at about 100m from the actual location, on a small road apparently in the midle of nowhere. Continue on that road and follow the signs pointing to Casale Virgili for the next 2 turns.
All in all a very present experience, hope to visit them again.

The hosts Roberto & Angela are very welcoming, gracious & helpful. We had a difficulty finding the property and Roberto came and "rescued" us & showed us the way - very kindly. The property is a typical Tuscan stone home, well kept & very clean. Very pretty gardens & manicured grounds. They have a great pool area overlooking the hills of Tuscany and other pleasant outside sitting areas with free Wi-Fi. It is a very short drive to Siena and many wonderful towns in Tuscany and again Roberto is very helpful with recommendations & directions (in English, for those who don't speak Italian). You can see & hear the highway - but it is not disturbing at all - you feel like you are in the country even though you are close to the city. The breakfast (served in an outside garden area in the summer) was delicious with many selections as well as products from their garden and fruit trees. We were in Italy for 10 days & it was our favorite place to stay.

We chose this delightful place because it seemed to be close to Siena, it had good reviews, the yard looked great and the B&B itself looked like a traditional manor in which I longed to stay. I'm happy to say it was a great choice. It really was a no more than 10 min drive to the historic center of Siena (when staying at Casale Virgili a car is highly recommended, so you don't depend on the bus) and we also benefited from the green yard, the comfortable beds and pool. After having visited Siena, I confess that I was glad we didn't book anything more in town - it would have been more expensive but it would not have held any advantages: no green yard, no view of the hills, not enjoying the feel of a traditional Italian casale in great shape, and maybe no pool. So, the 2 nights we spent there were very comfortable - we appreciated the excellent mattresses, the iron bed, the massive wood furniture, the calm and quiet. We went to bed with crickets singing and woke up to the song of birds. One of the reviewers mentioned that they thought the room was a little too dark and that the windows were not big enough - well, that just comes with the territory of a traditional casale - if one looks closely, they all have rather narrow windows and wood shutters. As for the lack of air conditioning - we really didn't feel the need for it. The house is made of stone, so it's cooler, and we slept with our window open, so we had fresh air and also heard the sounds of nature. Anyway, each room is equipped with a fan, should you need additional cooling.
It's also true that one can see the main road to Siena in the distance and hear the cars passing when in the yard or at the pool, but then again if you want extremely easy access to Siena and nice views, you can't expect the ultimate rural quiet. Anyway, we just tuned out the faint noise of the cars and we didn't think of it as a disadvantage. After all, had we stayed in the heart of the city, we would have had no other choice than to deal with it. Breakfast was buffet style and very good, especially for an Italian accommodation (those who travel more to Italy would be used to the fact that generally breakfast in smaller hotels or B&B's consists of croissants and coffee or cappuccino). It was a hearty meal with cheese, cold meats, sweets and cakes, croissants, jams, nutella, butter, two types of bread, yoghurts, juice, cappuccino. It was served in a special room, with a patio in front, but on sunny days - such as we had the luck to get - it was served on the patio outside. The crisp and clean morning air was invigorating :). Both Roberto and Angela, the owners, were very helpful - they gave us valuable suggestions for dinner places, and Roberto's suggestions and map for a Chianti tour were helpful. Roberto speaks good English, although we mostly communicated with them in Italian. All in all, the place was as shown by the pictures and if we ever went back to Siena or around, we would gladly stay there again.

Room Tip: Our room (room no. 1) had a view to the pool through a very narrow window, and part of the surface o...

Lovely B&B situated 10 min by car outside Siena. We found a free parking area just outside the townwall so it's no problem taking the car to town. Nice, big room but hard bed and no AC which could be terrible some warm nights. The owner, Roberto is very helpful (knows a lot about the areas around and history) and speaks good english, talk to him instead of his wife. Unfortunately for us she didn't warn us about the chaotic Florence and that we could have taking the bus which takes about an hour instead of driving (we never stayed, rushed out again). But the house is BEAUTIFUL and the view from the poolarea is amazing!
