There is a lot about this hotel that makes it stand out. The building is an old Monastery, very interesting and the public areas are lovely, with a beautiful outside courtyard where breakfast is served in summer, and lovely for sitting in the sunshine during the day. Very peaceful. Now the not so goods. Choice of room is important. We had friends with us and whilst they had a lovely room with a great view across to the Tuscan hills from the second floor, we were disappointingly allocated a room on the ground floor, which had a high window with bars on, which gave it a ' cell like ' feeling, and was very basic. Dark and dismal. The breakfast was also quite basic with a very limited choice of continental breakfast, and could be so improved with a better choice of prepared fruit, and wider options. It isn't licensed, which isn't a huge issue as there are bars close by. The final thing that for me impacts the rating is that whilst it is in a lovely quiet setting, it is also not that close to the centre and there are hotels that are much closer to the centre of everything. It's not too far, and takes around 10 minutes to walk to Ill Campo, but I would prefer to be closer, even accepting hotels in the centre are much noisier. So overall, nice hotel, but try and avoid ground floor rooms for the best experience

While the young staff was polite, their lack of training/resources and shabby dorm like hotel was more like what you would expect from a hostel. The bathroom electricity worked in only one of the two rooms we rented, so we were asked to share the bathroom of the 2nd room. We requested laundry service which came back a ball of wet, wrinkled, faded clothing. The excuse was that they were not a professional laundry (they should have shared that with us before pretending to offer those services). The air conditioning was set at around 80 degrees and could not be changed, so our nights were hot and uncomfortable with no air circulating from the windows. The furnishings were shabby and the walls and floors cracked and stained (not in a rustic, charming style. The breakfast pastries were nice, but the fruit was old. The front desk didn't know how to use the credit card machine when we checked out, so we had to pay cash. Without a renovation and overhaul of services, travelers should avoid this hotel!

Room Tip: No elevators, so lower rooms are easier to get luggage up and down. They do have stair lift, but it...

We stayed at the hotel on a group tour, so the nightly price of the room and parking were not issues for us. However, the room we had was extremely small; a queen bed would have been preferable to the king, allowing more walking room. Lighting was insufficient, and there were long wires from the lamp and phone across walking space. The bathroom was updated, but water from the wall-mounted faucet splashed all around the vessel sink, soaking any toiletries on the counter unless you were very careful. The buffet breakfasts were adequate. On the positive side, the hotel is well-situated to see the sights of Siena, and the views from our second floor room were wonderful.

We had a so called de luxe room for two nights at the hotel. I have never had a more worse room ever. We payed a lot for(considering what we got): AC that did not work properly. It was noisy and it was very humid in the room. In additon it was a mouldy smell in the room. I am allergic, so I had problem with staying in the room. We also had a balcony with pigeons and pigeon droppings.

The Wifi is included, it says, but it is not working in the rooms. It worked on and off in the stairs/bench by the lobby and in the Wifi area.

The doublebed was not good at all - worn out. The bed had two mattresses and with different height. It was dirty in the room so I needed to use flip flops when I walked in the room. This was very overpriced and bad.

The fridge did not work so good - a little bit warm.

The breakfast was very simple and with only one, but serviceminded, waiter.

Possible to park for €15 per day.

The positive: short walk to the old town in Siena.

We had a "deluxe room" with a terrace together with all the pigeons . The room was poorly cleaned, the AC not working properly, mouldy scent in the room, the refrigerator not getting cold, the wifi partly worked from a bench in the lobby but nowhere else. Parking is 15 euros per night a short walk away. The monastary certainly has its charm and is perfectly located to see Siena but not worth the price at all.

From our oversized room we had a wonderful panoramic view of the Tuscan countryside. We found the staff very friendly and looking for ways to go out of their way to help us. There is a historic old charm to every room, especially the breakfast area, courtyard and our room. We found the entire experience memorable and would gladly stay there again.

We stayed here for 3 nights during a tour of Tuscany and were very much looking forward to it as had been recommended both Siena and this hotel by friends. However this place more than exceeded our expectations. From the moment you walk through the main entrance - it is very much in keeping with Siena itself and of it's past life as a monastery. We had a great room with the most tremendous view of the Tuscan countryside. The furnishings are olde antique style and maybe not the most comfortable bed ever but the ambience and surroundings made up for this. All of the hotel staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Our request for extra pillows dealt with immediately. We would highly recommend this hotel and hope to be back one day again ourselves.

Room Tip: Room 29 - the best view ever ! Some first floor rooms have a terrace.
