We loved this hotel! It is in a quiet residential street within a 10-15 minute walk of the old town of Siena. The young women who run the hotel make a great team and were always friendly and helpful. There is no lift but there are rooms on the ground floor for those who would struggle with the stairs. We had an amazing room (22) with superb views of the Duomo and the red roofs of Siena from the bed! The bathroom was rather dated but spotlessly clean. An unexpected touch was the kettle and tea/coffee. The weather was glorious while we were there and it was charming to be able to eat in the pretty garden each day. The breakfast buffet is rather limited compared with some hotels we've stayed in in Italy but the fresh croissants were delicious. The hotel is a beautiful old building and has free on street parking right outside. Recommended!

Room Tip: Worth paying extra for a city view room. We were delighted with room 22 on the 2nd floor (but the lack of lift would not suit everyone)

This was our second time staying here, and we loved it even more. The rooms are clean and comfortable, the staff is super helpful and friendly, and breakfast in the garden is the perfect start to the day. The shower is European and therefore quite tight, and my wife said the coffee is not as good as the first time, but the tea and pastries are excellent and you're a ten minute walk from the city center and Nannini's. Plus the view on the way in can't be beat! It's easy to get free onstreet parking for the whole week, and the staff were a great help with that (as with everything else).

The Villa Elda (we were told) was built in the 1920's as a private residence. The place conveys a feeling of faded elegance that we enjoyed. It has a lovely garden and roof terrace with a marvelous view of the city. Be prepared for a 15 minute walk to get to the sites of the city. There is no elevator to rooms on the upper floors. The staff was friendly and helpful but for one incident. My wife and I brought back food for dinner and the evening had turned too cool to eat in either the garden or on the roof patio. We requested to eat in the dining area where breakfast was served and were told we couldn't and should eat in our room. Unfortunately there was only one chair in our room and no table other than a small desk. We ended up having to eat on the floor. This was the only sour note to our stay.

My wife and I spent two weeks at Villa Elda while she was taking an intensive course to improve her Italian language skills. I give Villa the highest rating for the following reasons: Exceptional view of Siena from our room (book top floor facing town)--beats E M Forster's view in Florence hands down; Room was spacious, lots of closet space and very modern bath; Young women who run Villa Elda are very friendly, will gladly help with any problem and overall treat you like a special guest; Villa is on a quite residential street overlooking the town but within a few minutes walk of the Duomo and Campo; Breakfast has ample choices and a range of Italian coffee to order and made individually by a Bartista (actually one of the young women). Villa Elda does not disappoint.

This is a clean bright hotel with gorgeous views from the room. The breakfast was varied and tasty. The staff was very friendly and professional. They helped us map out routes to other areas. We would definitely stay again.
