“Out of town Siena”
Reviewed 23 May 2014 via mobile

We drove to Siena so wasn't a problem with location, I knew when booking that it is 10 minutes by Bus. We only stayed one night and didn't have breakfast as leaving early so can't comment on services. Room was nice big and clean with little balcony. Bus and directions to Siena explained very well and even provided bus tickets, very helpful. I would recommend and stay again.

The lodging’s owners are extraordinary hosts. Simona was not only very welcoming, courteous and hospitable, but she also gave my husband and I very thorough information and guidance on Siena. The room was beautiful and spotless. It was much better than any room found at a 5-star hotel – spacious, exquisitely arranged, warm, quiet and gorgeous. We are vegetarians and since we had gotten especially nutritious cereals, fruits and nuts, we decided to have breakfast in our room. Upon asking for hot water, Simona intuitively and willingly offered us all the utensils that we needed. By the way, Gli Angeli is located very close to a bus stop. The bus will take you to the town’s main attractions, and bus tickets can be conveniently purchased from Simona herself! In short, we were most grateful to have chosen Gli Angeli for our stay in Siena and would never hesitate recommending it, or, needless to say, coming back to it! Ivana & Fernando, Norway

We were thrilled with our experience at this B&B . Very easy to find and only a short bus ride to the centre. Best place to stay if you have a car, you can leave your car here, and get the bus only a few paces away and not worry about driving in the centre. The hosts were extraordinary, so helpful and friendly. We will defiantly come again and recommend to our friends and family. Thanks you so much Simona and Oscar. Also it was so sweet that they share some of their family history and showed us their flags from the Palo. I was only sad we could only stay 1 day as it was booked up

The B&B is far away from the city and with limited parking facilities. The rooms are clean but not very spacious. Breakfast is quite costly for what you are given, had a cold wanna-be-cappuccino on one occasion. Also the shower went cold another day. I realise this is a relatively low cost accommodation but I felt slightly ripped off by the end of it!

This place was too far from the walled city and the bus transportation was poor. The B&B was located in a neighborhood off the main road. We had planned to stay for two nights, but after the first night, we decided to leave and stay closer to the city.

Room Tip: Unless you want to stay in a place where there is nothing to do, this is the place for you.

We stayed here for 4 nights during our first trip to Italy. Great location, once we found it - hosts directions given ahead of time were very helpful, she just needs a big, clear sign indicating actual house. Room was clean and spacious, but a bit noisy from thin walls separating other rooms as well as from traffic noise. Simona spoke good English and was very friendly and helpful with maps, directions and suggestions. We thought the breakfast was worth the extra cost. Although the B&B is not within walking distance to Siena we were able to drive our rental car closer and park it quite easily. B&B was in a good central location to explore the other towns of San Gimignano, Volterra, Montalcino, Pienza, and Montepulciano.

This was a decent place to stay considering how much we paid. Three of us stayed here for two nights in a room with a double and single. The b&b is very hard to find, even with a taxi driver leading the way, it is hidden down a driveway off the main street. It is on the opposite end of the city to the train station and outside the city walls. Its not walkable to the centre of town but buses run regularly nearby and for cheap fares you can get into the city. The room is very clean and newly finished with nice bathrooms. The walls are thin though and you can definitely hear your neighbours. With that being said, you don't go to Siena to sit around the room anyway.
This is not a traditional bed and breakfast in the sense that there is not a common area, however, you do have breakfast in the family dining room. We paid for breakfast our first morning and while decent we thought it was more affordable to get something in town.
Angeli is very kind and helps with bus passes and mapping out the city.
Its a good choice on a budget if you don't mind being outside the city.
