Hotel La Perla was a great stay for my wife and I! We were actually able to drive up to the hotel (an exhilarating experience for me...terrifying to my wife!) to drop off bags and get checked in. There is plenty of public out of the city walls, but my wife threw her back out before our trip, so I didn't want to lug every bag up the hills. Reception is up a flight of stairs and was very easy and welcoming. We were offered a choice of rooms and got a nice one with a great view of the piazza! The room was clean and simply furnished with an en-suite bathroom that is an all-in-one type (it takes some getting used to).

But the key to this hotel is the location. It's a 2 minute (if that) walk to the Piazza del Campo and couldn't be any closer to the action of Siena. Absolutely recommend this place to anyone. It's not the Ritz or anything - but it's a clean bedroom, bathroom and KILLER location!

One final note - there is no breakfast option here, but the hotel is located near any number of cafes and shops - so you won't go hungry!

We picked the hotel based on its location- right in the center of the city. Public parking is available in one of the many parking garages outside of the city so pack lightly as you will be pulling your suitcase up a long hill then carrying it up several flights of stairs. The staff were very friendly and spoke English. The room was very basic and the bathroom more so but it was clean. Breakfast was not an option but there are several cafes and bakeries in the neighborhood. We didn't spend much time in our room which made this hotel perfect for what we were looking for.

Well located in central sienna, walking distance to all the attractions. However the place is noisy with noise coming from a restaurant/ bar in the evenings and in the mornings cars and a street-sweeper which start early. The room was adequate and the staff helpful and friendly.

Great value for such an amazing location. Rooms are basic but we had 3 in the room and weren't crowded which is amazing for where you are. Parking was easy. Drive right to the door, dump your bags then drive the car back down to the free parking and enjoy the sights as you walk back.

We stayed three nights in La Perla. It was clean, comfortable and secure. No services are offered apart from the en suite room but there are cafes right in the adjacent piazza for a local breakfast.
La Perla scores heavily for location being very close to the old town- centre attractions and restaurants. As a matter of interest, the on line joining instructions gave details of the route from the railway station if made on foot. Since they were written an excellent escalator has been built which takes pedestrians up to the heights of the city taking the climb out of the trek. Access it through the shopping mall adjacent to the station.
