Small bistro done in a modern/rustic decor. Interesting menu, well executed. Muscles and clams sautéed in garlic and basil, particularly good. Black ink tortellini stuffed with potatoes in a tomato sauce and lemon risotto with squid and zucchini flowers was good, although couldn't pick out any zucchini flowers and the risotto could have been a bit creamier and the rice was just a bit toothy for my taste. Chocolate soufflé with caramelized berries was great. Ample portions. 75 euros for 2 apps., 2 mains, 1 dessert, water, wine and coffee. I made reservations by phone, but it wasn't busy on a Thursday night. Service was friendly and attentive. We needed a photo of us toasting to send back for a congratulations e-mail back home and the owner happily agreed and took quite a few.

My risotto was ok. Not that tasty, but not that bad. The beef with red wine reduction and onions was awful, tastefulless and with a lot of nerves. Not worth at all.

We didn't stay enough time to have the "pleasure" of tasting their food. The prices were high, the staff was'nt friendly, and when they got we talk Hebrew - they started to talk ugly. Then we left...
But we found a lovely restaurant 50m from there! Tasty, cheap and kind!

The restaurant can be found up a short but very steep slope at the beginning of Via Castelvecchio. We had appetisers of tiger prawns with strawberries and balsamic (amazing) and the mussels and clams in a white wine, pesto and garlic sauce/soup base. This was enormous for an appetiser and we spent a whole soaking up the remaining delicious sauce with the table bread.
Next we had mains of sliced pork (tender and juicy) and a ragu of wild boar. My ragu had clearly been slow-cooked to perfection as it was tender and fall-apart. Again, the bread came in handy to soak up the sauces.
The table wine was excellent and I ended up ordering two glasses of the red.
Suitably encouraged we ordered desserts of chocolate soufflé and a pear and cheese cake - both delicious. A glass of Vin Santo (very strong) finished it all off.
Two starters, two mains, three glasses of wine and two desserts came to 77 Euro. Well worth it for this level of local food.

We were recommended to this off the beaten path restaurant by our hotel. We were not disappointed. The restaurant itself was charming and the staff was very pleasant and welcoming.

The menu was varied, the food was creatively presented, and everything was very good including the wine.
