Stayed for three nights during the August Palio and would thoroughly recommend it.
The hotel has only 9 rooms and is in a beautiful building just behind the Via del Corso in Siena. The common areas are very welcoming whilst keeping the authenticity of the building with exposed brickwork and pieces of art.
Rooms are simple, modern and warm with stone floors and large bathrooms. Our room, 9, had a bath with hand shower... Separate WC with bidet. Beds are very comfortable and TV also had Sky... We also benefitted from a small sitting room with a sofa and a couple of chairs.
Breakfast is ample with everything from fresh fruit, pastries, cured meats, cheese, cakes and all the beverages including fresh smoothies and juices.
They also provide an aperitivo in the late afternoon with biscuits and juices.
Staff is very friendly and helpful, speaking Italian, English and French.

This is a very unique hotel located very close to Il Campo and most sites in Sienna. The building is a converted manor dating back to the 16th century. The staff was very friendly and accommodating to us. You will want to take a taxi from the train station to reach this hotel, but once you are there everything is within walking distance. The rooms are very unique and decorated with a modern eye. They were very clean and the beds were comfortable. Our room was located off the street side and was very quiet with a great view. Breakfast is served each morning and is included in the price of your stay.

Only stayed one night at this fantastic hotel. Got an offer to upgrade our room to a suite - so we did, and what a amazing room!! The service was really good as well. The building is very old and an experience by itself.

We lucked out and got a room at Palazzetto Rosso for Il Palio. The hotel is right on the cusp of Giraffa contrada, which was perfect, as it is both the contrada we were rooting for by virtue of our contrada dinner AND the contrada that won the race!

Even if you're not in town for Il Palio, we highly recommend Palazzetto Rosso. It's a terrific location, with lots of beautiful sights, restaurants, and conveniences nearby. The view from our room was beautiful! The modern decor juxtaposed against the ancient infrastructure of the building interior is visually stunning.

The staff is wonderful. The hotel feels very full-service: the staff booked an airport transport from Pisa, delivered caffé to our room, made dinner reservations for us, and gave us great advice on Siena! Oh, and they printed the bus schedule to montepulciano for us and explained the system to us. Terrific service.

The only downside: we were in the hotel's disabled room and the shower floods the bathroom. The staff is amazing - they would come in and take care of the water whenever we left the property... But I could see where that might get annoying / you'd start to feel like a high-maintenance guest after awhile. Definitely not a deal-breaker. We still loved the hotel and would love to stay in the beauty and comfort of Palazzetto Rosso again!

If you're looking for a place to stay in Siena - this is the perfect location. This boutique hotel is a lovingly restored 15th century palace. They have done an excellent job preserving the decorative artifacts, while providing guests all of the modern amenities. The rooms were spacious, incredibly clean and comfortable. Ours had wonderful views of the streets below. We had a perfect view of the parade of one of the contradas going through the streets in the weeks leading up to the Palio. The staff was very friendly and helpful and spoke perfect English. If you are driving, the directions to the hotel are excellent. The staff is kind to take care of parking the car for you as well for a small fee. This makes it super easy!! The breakfast was delicious and plentiful. The hotel is very reasonably priced - especially considering that the breakfast meal is included.
