Recommended this Osteria by hotel as we were looking for a “local” place to eat nearby. The food was excellent - after the usual antipasti starters we all had the strips of steak with rocket and pecorino cheese accompanied by good local red wine which we all enjoyed. When asking what the House dessert was we were introduced to the chefs wife who had provided the inspiration for it! A thoroughly enjoyable evening out.

A little quirky with handwritten menus but our host explained it all and was great.
We all had local beef strips which was lovely, puds made by the waiters mum who I met!!
Loved it......

Do not eat here - The food is okay but staff deliberately try to scam tourists by adding extra items to the bill or overcharging for wine

Found this restaurant by chance, full of locals "always a good sign" very helpfull waiter to explain some of the dishes we could not decipher. As the previous review family run restaurant with all the character and charm you would expect. We had a carpaccio and a spaghetti dish "home made pasta of course" best food we have had in Italy over the last 2 weeks. Cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough, shame we are only in Siena for the day.

This restaurant is right at the end of via Stalloreggi through porta due of the wall and across the street. About 1km from the main entrance on via de Rossi but worth the walk. Small and quaint family run, we found the food great. Good portions great value. We had some problem with the hand written menu only in Italian but our server was great sand helped us out. Lots of reviews about their gnocchi- and for good reason. They are stuffed and covered in their “secret” sauce. We also tried the grilled sliced beef covered with arugula, shaved cheese and drizzled with olive oil - really good. Cap off with complimentary grappa and/ or amaretto, or two if you like as they bring the bottles to the table. We tried to reserve by phone and email with no success so ended up walking down to reserve a table in the morning. Best restaurant we found in our 5 days in Siena.
