Description: In the Piazza Del Comune, right in front of the Temple of Minerva, you pass an arch known as “Volta Pinta” with the marvellous grotesques painted by Raffaellino Del Colle in the sixteenth century. Trattoria Pallotta is discretely set apart, at the end.The simple decor will make you feel the familial warmth. Before being seated at your table, ask to visit the cellar that was discovered during the renovation works. Here you will find many regional labels as well as a small selection of national wines, some of which are served by the glass.Margherita looks after the preparation of the meals, using prime local produce and will always offer you new seasonal dishes, staying faithful to the tradition.

“Fantastic food! Amazing wine! Loved it!”
Reviewed 22 December 2010

We had been traveling for about a week before landing in Assisi. We had planned to try a different restaurant but alas it was closed, so we decided to try the sister restaurant of our Hotel Pallotta. We absolutely loved it! The staff was very helpful and warm. We wanted to try a local wine and the waiter actually tried to talk us out of trying the sagrantino as it is a very bold wine. We ordered it anyway, as we enjoy bold, and it was fantastic! At the end of the meal they brought us a bottle so that we could take notes and pictures in order to help find some to bring home. We had the best caprese of our trip and a fantastic sausage! If you're in Assisi, Trattoria Pallotta is a must!

“Pure heavenly bliss, even if you are a vegetarian”
Reviewed 19 December 2010

Both nights we stayed in Assisi, they took us in with out a reservation, which we were very thankful for. We went here based on a Rick Steves recommendation and the reviews we saw on tripadvisor. We had a great experience both times. The waiters were very helpful recommending wines. First night we had a Ruggeri Montefalco Rosso which was a killer wine. We started with a bruschetta appetizer, which was sooooo good. We then were served our pasta dishes, one was the big fat spaghetti with mushrooms and olive pesto, the other was the big bat spaghetti with truffles. We then had roasted potatoes and a cheese plate. We left there very full but completely satisfied. The second night, the server recommended a Ruggeri Montefalco Sagrantino Secco, which was perfect. The boyfried went with the fat spaghetti and truffles (his new food passion) and I had the spinach stuffed ravioli. We ended the meal with tomatoes and mozerrella. The staff treated us real well and had no problems speaking English. We wished we could take Trattoria Pallotta home with us and would go there again if we ever return to Assisi.

“Enjoyed myself”
Reviewed 6 November 2010

Reviews were good so decided to go. Made a reservation which was recommended. Arrived at 8:00PM, already full, some waiting but I was shown to my table. Helpful and attentive even though I was dining singly which is not always the case in some places.
Enjoyed penne for starter and rabbit cacciatore for second. Both beautifully cooked and thoroughly enjoyable. Recommended a white wine which was also nice. Bread and sparkling water also provided. Meal came to 25 euros which I thought was good value. 10% off as well if you stay in their hotel. Right off the main square so well positioned. Wait staff attentive and seemed to be enjoying their job which was nice.

In my opinion deserves it's rating, great food, nice atmosphere and good value.

“Amazing meal in Assisi”
Reviewed 17 October 2010

We loved Trattoria Pallotta. After 10 days in Italy I was wondering what the reputation for Italian food was about. Then we ate at Trattoria Pallotta. It was wonderfully well prepared, with quality ingredients and presented by warm, friendly staff. This is family restaurant with great style and quality food. Elegant, yet comfortable and not stuffy. Had to repeat for our second and last night in town. Definitely call in advance for reservations or you will likely not find a table. Despite the demand, they did not rush us and was a great value for the price. A fixed price full meal option which includes wonderful dessert is great value, house wine was good and very inexpensive. All round great meal with attentive staff.

“Probably one of the best in Assisi”
Reviewed 2 October 2010

Rather fortunately, the Medioevo was closed that day (we went there the next, see my other review), and we stepped upon Trattoria Pallotta by accident. The place is very nice, and the staff was also courteous and unassuming. The food was partly excellent, and always above average, although there seems to be a general tendency in Assisi to not care too much about preparing a good secondo piato.

We had a very pleasant stay, and the staff also took care of our baby.
