My husband and I stayed at this charming hotel conveniently located among quaint and lovely shops. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. The breakfasts were satisfying and with a nice selection of cheeses, pastries and beverages. The highlight of this hotel was the wonderful restaurant attached to it. We had a delicious meal with panna cotta for dessert. It was our first time trying it and we loved it. It was obvious that it was entirely "homemade" and beautifully presented. Assisi is a beautiful town pleasant and picturesque, but be forewarned it is primarily hilly and if you are senior citizens, like us, walking up steep pavements is very tiring and difficult if you are not wearing good walking shoes. We highly recommend this lovely hotel.

Nice choice of pastries and cakes at breakfast. The coffee machine is slow and complicated. The hotel is very clean and nicely decorated and is fairly quiet. The staff were pleasant and helpful. The location is ideal right on the main street leading to the square. Only Italian channels on the high quality tv set. Wifi is good when it was working it dropped off in the room but was OK in the lobby.

If you like being right in the town centre this is the place. Friendly, a bit 'old fashioned'. Some street noise but to b expected given its position. Good breakfast - cold meat, cheese, hb eggs, scrambled eggs, cooked tomatoes, little sausages, cereal, various breads, pastries and lots of cakes! A lovely little restaurant attached to the hotel I can thoroughly recommend. All in all a good place to stay in Assissi.

This is just off the main square in Assisi. It is clean and the rooms are a good size. Breakfast is OK ( tends to be the same choice every day and there is a reliaince on machines for dispensing coffee, tea and even yogurt!) . Staff are helpful. There are lots of people passing through as Assisi seems to be a place for one night stop overs for tour groups.

Room Tip: Ask for one on the top floor, corner

The location of the hotel was great. The staff helpful and attentive. Our superior room was spacious and clean and had a small refrigerator which was welcomed. The beds were pretty uncomfortable though. A breakfast served in the basement restaurant was tasty and well prepared with a large selection. Our shower hose leaked but was fixed without our having to ask. All in all, we are not dissatisfied with the Hotel Dei Priori and would probably return. A hot water pot in the rooms to make morning coffee would be a very welcomed addition.

Room Tip: The superior rooms give you a little more room to maneuver and are furnished with a comfortable chai...

We started planning a trip to Italy last April of 2013 and made reservations for two superior rooms at Hotel Dei Priori. When we arrived on March 8, they had given our two rooms away and stated that there was trouble with the rooms and sent us to another hotel (which was great with an incredible view) and told us we needed to come back the next day and our rooms would be ready. We were told by the other hotel that they overbooked. When we returned the next day, the rooms given us were average with leaky shower sprays that ran down onto the floor and a very unstable banister that dangerously led to the bed upstairs. The location was great, but I would not recommend this hotel due to the lack of consideration. They had our credit card number so the rooms should have been ours. All said and done, we did enjoy the substitute hotel, Fontebella much better.

We had a group of people traveling with us and had over 6 rooms. As others have said, the location of the hotel was perfect. You couldn't ask for better. It really allows you to access restaurants and shopping without difficulty. The hotel itself needs some work- which they are clearly doing and none too soon. There is some great potential there. An elevator is a real necessity in this hotel so hopefully it will be fixed soon. All of our rooms were on the 2nd floor-mine was with a street view which was nice. For some reason our room smelled like someone had been smoking in there and the only way to get rid of the smell was to keep the windows open. The bathroom was small even for Italy standards. Biggest issue was the staff. Some of them were great and others were downright rude. We were on the go and didn't spend too much time in the rooms so all in all it was a good place to stay. One thing to keep in mind if you want quiet is that the bell in the tower in the Piazza chimes every half hour in the evening and in the morning. It was charming and we got used to it but if you are a light sleeper it could be bothersome.
