“Authentic, very good and very friendly”
Reviewed 29 June 2014

During our recenty stay in the region Perugia (Bosco) we went several times to this restaurant.
The food is authentic and excellent and the price is correct. Signor Luigi (the man in charge and also speaking English) has a wide choice of wines (in the restaurant each region has its own 'winewall' with prices from €12-14 and up.
If you can attend one of his special 'menu' evenings' (all in: €50, and really all in), don't miss it.
If ever we visit the region again, we'll be back in the Osteria.

“Worth a try”
Reviewed 3 June 2014

Very local taste, but with a touch of sophistication. We liked the combination of serving a limited choice of dishes with only local ingredients, although with further imagination. For instance, the tiramisu had chocolate chips. Prices could be lower but it is worth trying it. We spent E 25 each for a pasta with lamb ragu, wine, and dessert. The Osteria is also visited by locals.

“fresh fish”
Reviewed 10 January 2014

Friends have been telling me about this place for over a year now and finally I went. I was really pleased with the fish. I ordered the dentice (snapper), which was grilled to perfection with lemon. The vegetables that accompanied the fish had an Asian flavor, which was quite good.
The care for the table setting and menu were modern and clean, the prices too were medium-high, but the food quality was worth it. What I found to be some what out of balance was with the atmosphere, it’s just missing the modern almost high scale quality that is on the table. The furniture is osteria-style, but not for this osteria. If it just got a little more style to it, it would work. The music was entertaining, but definitely not for the dinning room. AC/DC, Guns & Roses and the like are more gym & garage music, no offense. I will for sure go again though.

“Friendly, warmly recommended”
Reviewed 16 September 2013

In Bosco Luigi runs a very nice restaurant. Almost always busy because of the good quality of the food and that at a modest price. A wide range of wines (Luigi's passion) is available.
The staff is friendly and all contribute to the fine sphere that makes you feel welcome. It's one of my regulars in the neighborhood of Perugia.

“Very disappointing”
Reviewed 2 July 2013

We were a family group of 8 including 2 young children. We found Luigi not very accommodating to requests concerning the children - unusual In Italy. The pasta was good but all the other dishes were nondescript and disappointing, especially as they had been talked up by Luigi. The marinated beef dish, a speciality, was reminiscent of school dinners! The lamb chops had as much fat as meat. In general we enjoyed the restaurants in Umbria but this place was a real disappointment.
