“Good food and good beer”
Reviewed 9 August 2013

No complaints AT ALL, good beer (Otter Ale x 3 plus a guest ale) and really nice food for around £10. I would certainly go again....and if you have never been the car parking, though easy, is confusing. Let me explain....

The general public car park is free and outside the pub
The Church car park is nearest the road
The Pub car park is nearest the church

Park anywhere...nobody seems to mind!

“Food Quality and Sevice”
Reviewed 9 August 2013

Waited 45 minutes for main courses. No hint that there would be a wait of anything like this amount of time.
When the food arrived a lasagne was completely burnt around the edge. The sauce had completely burnt dry. We were then told that they would cook another one and it would take 10 minutes. Over 15 minutes later the waiter said "haven't you got your lasagne yet?". Yet again they had almost forgotten.
The food is ok but tables but it is very crowded with waiters knocking you as you eat.

“great food- would thoroughly recommend”
Reviewed 29 July 2013

Popped in here by chance while travelling between Slapton Sands and Salcombe. Nice little courtyard area to sit in but it got too hot so we moved inside. Lovely spot as you can have a look round the interesting historic church next door afterwards. Food was REALLY good. One member of the party had hake and raved about it for the rest of the night. One of us had steak and it was superb. Forgot to order a sauce to go on it, so asked if we could order one as meal was brought to table and they said no problem and brought it straight away. The chicken dish and the smoked haddock and sea trout were also very good. Veg was firm and nicely cooked and chips hand cut with skins on. We were too full for dessert sadly. Service was friendly and helpful.

“Holiday special”
Reviewed 28 July 2013

Whilst on a recent holiday in Start Bay, South Devon we visited this pub/restaurant twice during our stay. Stokenham is in a lovely part of the world. Both times the food was excellent and the staff very friendly and helpful. Well worth a visit!!
