What an enthusiastic team of people..!! completely satisfied with the experience and will always be my preference when I am next in Basle. True value for money. Except for the breakfast choices. Us being vegetarians had not much options on the breakfast menu. Otherwise overall excellent experience. The best thing was the very very friendly staff always eager to help. Check-in and check-out is very quick and efficient. Rooms are spacious and well furnished..!!

Room Tip: Choose a courtyard facing room. They have good inter-connecting room if you want to travel with the...

Dear Malhar D,

thank you for writing your overwhelming feedback to TripAdvisor.

Our friendly staff tries to make your stay the very best: quick and efficient arrival and departure or for example finding more vegetarian options at our FILINI breakfast buffet. The spacious and well furnished rooms give you some more benefits.

Seventies style decor, comfortable king bed and soundproofing! We were upgraded to a business club room which are located on the 5th and 6th floors. Modern, light and tastefully decorated. A nice size. The only thing I did not like was the glass door on the bathroom so one had no privacy!! There is a gym, and massage is offered. Directly opposite a tram stop (and you are given a free tram pass by the hotel), 10 minutes walk from the station and a short walk to the old town. Breakfast was substantial and catered to everyone's taste. Hot and cold buffets were available. Service was inadequate at breakfast time. Good value for Switzerland although not comparable to America or most of Europe! I would stay here again.

Room Tip: I would ask to be as high up as possible!

Dear LesleyJM2014,

thank you for giving your positive and "warm" feedback on TripAdvisor.

We are pleased to hear that you appreciated our roomstyle, equipment, central location + free access to the Basel public transport system with high succession of trams and large FILINI breakfast buffet. Regarding the roomtypes we have bathrooms of glass and more traditional ones- whatever your preferred choice may be.

Kind regards,

Stayed at the RAD Blu for business last week. Hotel is nice I guess for Basel standards. However, I'm an US Citizen and I would maybe give this a 2 star rating. For US standards, it's more like a Travel-Inn or Comfort Inn or maybe lower

Again (For US Standards) rooms are tiny. Bathroom was a bit outdated and also extremely small I could touch the glass door to the bathroom while standing in the Shower/Tub.

If you are doing business in downtown Basel (or near Peter Merian offices), I would strongly suggest booking a room at the hotels right across from the Basel SBB Train/Tram station.

Those hotels are the Hilton or the Schweizerhof

The SBB (train/tram station) give you access to all of Basel and usually the hotels give you a free pass for your stay.

The Radission Blu is about 500 meters away from the SBB Train station And. the Radission Blu is downhill from the train statioin. Making it an uphill walk which was quite a bit while carrying luggage

I did discover that there was a Train that stopped right in front of the Hotel that takes you to the train station or all around Basel.

The next time in Basel, I will not be staying at the Radission

Dear big_data12345,

thank you for taking the time and giving us your detailed feedback on TripAdvisor.

Even if US and european hotel standards may be different, we want our guests to feel comfortable. Our hotel consists of many different roomtypes, we have many various types of bathrooms for example modern "glassy" or classical closed ones. We try to find the best option for every guest.

Basel possesses an excellent public transport system predominantly based on fast tramway lines spread all over town. Every guest staying at a hotel gets a free transportation "mobility ticket" even valid on departure day. Wherever you want to go in town - this way you can do it usually even quicker than by taxi, cab and for free. If you are loaded with luggage: all vehicles have at least one low floor entrance and Line # 10 calling in front of our hotel will carry you within 6 minutes to the Bahnhof SBB "swiss" central station.

Kind regards

Location, friendly helpful staff, good room, soundproofing, parking facilities, very good restaurant (also for room service) and breakfast, all make the Radisson Blue an excellent choice for a stay in Basel. The various tram lines that pass right in front, together with the free pass provided by the hotel with an easy to use map, make locomotion around town maybe the easiest experienced in a trip including 14 European cities. On this trip we (couple) also stayed in various hotels of equivalent class, but this one in Basel was far the most expensive, this being the one less favourable point. Maybe in Basel one does not find better for less. The Radisson is a modern type of hotel, with good structure, which by the way we usually prefer for comfort and services to the so called 'charming' type.

Dear Ernando A,

thank you for your positive and detailed feedback on TripAdvisor. We are pleased to hear that you appreciated our location, helpful staff, FILINI Restaurant and free transportation "mobility ticket" for easy use of trams and buses. ## 15, 16 even offer you a free of charges round trip/ city tour to start a Basel visit.

The swiss price standards are the one side, the high quality level is the other side. We hope you enjoyed your Europe visit.

There was a number of us booked at this hotel for a family wedding. We got an excellent deal which included breakfast & free wifi. Breakfast choice was excellent with plenty to choose from. It is close to the Basel SBB & as well as the downtown Marketplatz. I found the rooms clean and staff very obliging. Given our experience I would stay here again.

Unfortunately this Radisson Hotel was not worth the money and did not live up to its reputation.
The towels in the room smelled as if they were washed at the Chinese Restaurant around the corner. The sheets in the bed were not changed once during a two week stay, nor was the bath or floor cleaned.
The dresser did not fit much at all. 3 shirts at the most.
The wifi was terrible and connectivity dropped very often.

The restaurant was ok. So was the staff.

Stayed one night (thankfully) after a concert in Basel.
Given a business room on the 5th floor, no view from room. just flats and offices and an internal courtyard.
the room is probably one of the poorest designed rooms i've stayed in, glass wall to the bathroom, meaning if the bathroom is used, the bedroom is flooded with light, the large mirror wall opposite the bathroom means you have a direct view of the toilet from the bed.Lighting controls poor, lot's of lights, but lamps with no seperate wall controls.. Usual amenities, safe, mini bar, iron, tv with ok selection of channels.. Tea and coffee, but no milk and sugar, in the bathroom, conditioner and body milk but no shampoo..
Bar was also closed at midnight when we returned from the concert. Didn't try the breakfast, as it was shockingly expensive and not included in the price.
To cap it all, staff banging on the door to check the mini bar at 8.30, then housekeeping at 8.40.. on the morning of checkout..
In summary, trendy, central, poorly designed, expensive, badly run inadequate, and laughable.. i shan't be coming back..

Dear Zuribob,

thank you for taking the time and giving us your detailed feedback on Tripadvisor. We informed the concerned services and would like to apologise for any inconvenience.

The interior of our hotel was created by a scandinavian designer that used wooden material and glass inside the rooms. In the majority of cases we get benevolent ratings for this especially after an upgrade to business class room for example. The hotel consists of many different roomtypes, more traditional if required. Furthermore we offer all kind of guest supplies like soap, coffee whitener, sweetener. You can contact our front desk 24 h in case you need anything else and we will be glad to deliver this.

Kind regards
