“Impressed!”
Reviewed 23 July 2014 via mobile

The hotel is very new, and the staff was very friendly. There is a parking garage and a tram stop Infront of it. The room has a very cool design and is very well equipped. The bed is double and not two singles together so that's a plus! It was a Very clean, quiet, modern room. Ask for a room at the back!
The only downside is that I couldn't work the a/c but wasn't so hot. Plus the breakfast is overpriced and not included :( aw. Other than that, I would come back for sure! Loved it.

Positive:
- Breakfast is good but not waw!
- public transportation ticket included in price
- I got a free upgrade to a superior room which was nice but too me the room i got, looked pretty standard for the price I was paying.
- people at reception very nice

Negative:
- The room does not have round sockets (all sockets are small). So I could not charge my computer battery because it has a round electricity plug. I thought this was pretty inconvenient.
- if your room is on the street side, it can be noisy. The tram runs just in front of the hotel, and starts to run early in the morning.
- I could not adjust the temperature in the room.
- I think this hotel is too expensive for what you get.
- shower is in the bath, not seperate. For that price I would expect a nicer bathroom.
- Shower tap is located just above the bath, right under the shower head , So every time you want to change the temperature or flow of the water, you need to reach down, which makes your hair all wet. Maybe not important to some people but I don't always wash my hair and like to keep it dry while showering.
- Dinner at hotel restaurant is ok but nothing special

This is a nice hotel you can't go wrong here. Clean, comfy beds, good service, ok food, good breakfast you won't be disappointed.
There's a few things missing for it to stand out as an excellent place for business travel - rooms a little airless (you can open windows but on a still night not much fresh air came in!), slow internet, no irons in room.
That said I was very happy and would use again.

We stayed in this hotel for 3 nights and can recommend it to everybody coming to Basel. Hotel is perfectly located for city trip since all important places are reachable via public transportation in very short time (ticket for public transportation is included for whole stay). We had a room in the separate building in the back so that it was very quiet. Room was big, clean and very nice. Staff was also friendly and helpful. Definitely a place to return! Hai Anh & Daniel

Stayed in this hotel for 3 nights while conducting business in Basel. The hotel is perfectly reachable by public transport from the airport. Just take bus 50 to the train station in the city and then jump on tram 6 in the direction of Riehen, Grenze. Get out at stop Clarastrasse and its just a short walk from there to the hotel. Price for a ticket is about 4 euro.

There are also many trams which stop pretty much in front of the hotel and will take you all around the city. A public transport card is provided for free by the hotel once you check in. Great service.

I was assigned a room in the Residence building in the back. Nice modern and clean rooms. There was a thermostat, but it didn't do anything. So no air conditioning which made the room quite hot. There was only a small window that could be opened.

The internet access (both cabled as well as Wifi) was also quite flaky at times. Especially around the rush hours in the evening there wasn't any connection possible at frequent times. Quite irritating and embarrassing for a hotel with this standard.

In the minibar you'll find two bottles of water which are provided for free. Nice. I also was presented a wonderful fresh fruit plate on my first day. Never seen that gesture before. Neat!

A thing that, again, a hotel of this standard and price category should have in my opinion is at least a sauna and preferably also a swimming pool. Neither are present. There is a small but modern gym though.

Breakfast is a bit small, but should have all you need. Loved the variety of special cheeses and thick salmon slices.

At approximately 10 minutes walk you can reach the Rhine river which is lovely to walk along.

Staff is friendly and helpful, although it would be nice if they would respond more accurately to complaints like regarding the temperature control in the room and the internet access rather than first trying to deny or defend it. They did ask at checkout if all had been in order though, always like when they to that.

All in all certainly not bad, but lacks some facilities and features in the rooms that I normally already see with the lower priced brands in the Accor Hotels chain.

Room Tip: Ask for a room in the Residence building. Nice and quiet!

This hotel is the best. Great breakfast. Helpful staff. Its location is very good. Handy to everything.
I actually stayed in a separate building in the back. It is called the residence so it was very quiet. On check in I was given a gift, local snack box which was very good. I also received a transit pass which came in handy. Basel is such a nice city, I want to go back soon.
