We stayed in this hotel for three nights and fortunately had a room facing the interior courtyard so were not disturbed by the noise of the trams. However, the noise is not excessive and we thought the city was in fact very quiet. Most of the traffic is kept away from the city centre so there is no noise from car horns etc. The hotel is right beside the railway station so very convenient for arriving from the airport and getting trains or trams. Our room was comfortable and clean, shower excellent. The staff are friendly and one complaint we had was dealt with professionally and efficiently. If you have booked accommodation in Basel you get a "mobility ticket" free of charge which allows you to use the trams in the city. We made full use of it and thought the tram system was impressive. We enjoyed the walks in the old town and by the Rhine . The only drawback was the cost of eating out, which was very high compared to what we are used to.
We took a day trip to Rheinfelden, a short train journey away. It is a lovely little town, well worth a visit.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on a high floor or facing the interior.

I really enjoyed this hotel. They were right next to the train station and upon arrival, they greeted us very nicely, had drinks and fruit, and upgraded us to a junior suite. The TV welcomes the guest as well. Great value especially in Basel and great service.

One night stay for business. Based upon reviews and pictures of hotel, I was a little weary about staying at Hotel Victoria. I was upgraded to a junior suite in the "La Residence" section of the hotel and I was very pleased with my stay. While not fancy, the room seemed to be recently updated and checked all of the necessary boxes. Directly across from the train station, so location can't be beat if you are travelling to Basel via rail.

Glassware in room not changed daily, possible bug infestation in couch. Indifferent staff. Will not be staying here ever again. I've stayed here before without a problem but this time was the worst. Many other choices - recommend to look around.

This hotel is located at a busy tram and train station but this should not put you off as the hotel itself is superb and the staff ultra efficient.

Approximately £6 bus fare straight out of the airport will deliver you to the front doors of the hotel.

Accross the road there is the main train station which can take you anywhere in europe,

The breakfast was amazing with the only downside of the Swiss amazing prices £30+ each

The hotel has also a great little bar and restaurant attached which are well worth the visit.

Room Tip: Choose the rear of the hotel if you dont want waking up at six from other travellers using the trains & trams
