I was there because Dorint was overbooked and very expensive. The room I got was in the highest floor and I had a balcony outside viewing the fir building. It was Ok, the staff in the reception was very helpful and the day we were leaving very earlier in the morning we could order some snacks and yogurt as breakfast. Do not expect too much, but it is an option if prices re reasonable lower compared to other hotels nearby. It is good for its location, closer to term station nod other holes like Dorint.

Making a booking online for this hotel during the week of Basel World turned out to be a disaster.
The price was so high we thought it was for the entire week - but it turned out it was per day.
We cancelled the booking 10 minutes later when realizing that we had done a huge mistake. Our fault of course. Nevertheless the hotel insisted on keeping the deposit - despite the fact that the room was booked for another guest very soon after. The deposit was Euro 2453,-!!!!!
It was for a Business trip and this was an embarrasing bill to present to the company!

When you are travelling in Switzerland you have to be with the mined set that everything is expensive (compared to Northamerican standards). This hotel though is really not offering much for the prices they charge (300+ CAD $ per night). I was booked in a "superior" room. When I heard that I am on the ground (street level) floor I asked for a change. I got another room but the price didn't change. The young girl at the reception said something about "different price" but when she brought the manager - price didn't change. Unfortunately I speak the dialect I understood who said what on the matter. Breakfast is not included - it is when you pay.
My room was on the first floor. Very very small. Between the bed and the sliding door separating you for the toilet are 2 feet. Shower cabin is also small.
Location is good but I am certain you can find a better place than this.

I went there 2 times.
The first time I got a superior room and the room was quite small, with a small tv, with a very bad internet and expensive. The second time I got a standard room and it was double the first one, had a huge flat TV with more channels of the first one and a wonderful internet (oh and on the pillow I foun a welcome choccolate....). Random.

The service was ok apart the first night that I arrived late and I askwed if there was something to eat. the receptionist said no, it was quite fnny the morning after when I discovered the automatic distributor of snacks exactly behind the reception....

We stayed in the court yard room which was like a small suite. The room was very comfortable with
lovely Swiss bed and bedding, huge bathroom, small lounge and office.Breakfast is tipical Swiss with lots to eat and as much as you want.Hotel is just outside of the conference cenre and 10 minutes walk to down town.Having lived in Switzerland for 6 years I can tell you that this hotel is great value for money.

Room Tip: Ask for the Court Yard Romms

17 euro is a lot when you only want a cup of coffee and a bagel, even in Eu. Other than that, a VG hotel. Staff was very friendly and gave us a fan. Our room in the back of the hotel wasn't AC. Very nice restraunts when you turn right out of the hotel. As mentioned by other reviewers, the tram is a short walk and you can easily get anywhere in Basel with their system. Only stayed 2 nights to begin our European trip.

Only spent two nights here as a stop over at the start of our holiday.
The hotel is basic and is fine for a few nights stay as it is a little out of the way of the main area.
The tram stops less than 5 mins walk away and will take you into the main part of town / old town.
Breakfast i would say was poor and there was little or nothing to chose from.(Not as if we came down late to eat)!!
Reception nice and staff are friendly.
