Sometimes closed when you expect it to be open, and often only open at 11am, this superb building houses some of the wackiest and most mind-expanding art exhibitions I've seen; they also sell remarkable handmade or short-run books and pamphlets and still take modernism seriously. Yesterday: the Scots Birrell and Harding in a mind-bending exhibition that might have been about light and/or music; plus, a delightful, comprehensively international exhibition of recent architecture of viewing platforms, with raised wooden walkways and a selection of old postcards for contrast. Brilliant!
