“It was a very pleasant stay!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 December 2013

Everything was perfect in this hotel: the position close to the lake, to the public transport, the kindness of the receptionist, the cleanness and the parking availability.

The price is appropriate and what else you can ask?

Thank you.

Overall this is a good hotel, and in an expensive city like Geneva it offers a good place to stay for a modest price. I had a small but comfortable room. Things which are important for me were all there: Clean room, reliable net connection, comfortable bed, working space inside the room, good shower. The espresso machine was a nice bonus, and so was the small but well equipped gym. Breakfast was OK. I did have one major problem with the hotel: It is built in such a way that anyone coming from the street can go up to the rooms without passing through the reception. At first I didn't mind it, because I thought there was someone at the reception 24/7, monitoring the front door through security cameras. But on my last night I had to leave early (Around 4 A.M.) because of my flight hour, and was surprised to see the reception area locked and dark. Not being able to go through check-out was not the only problem - I also realized I had been wrong concerning security measures. If this is taken care of, I would whole-heartedly recommend anyone to stay at this hotel when coming to Geneva. If not, I would still recommend it, since it really is a good place to stay - but with a warning.

A smallish new modern hotel on a side road in the suburb of Paquis.
No, it's not a flashy area and the street  is quite ordinary, yet you get very good value for your money with this lovely hotel. Geneva is known as an expensive city, so here you don't have to break the bank...

The design is modern and functional. The size of the room was reasonable and works well. Everything was in good working order; No noise issues.

Breakfast is included and is of good quality, served in a friendly dining room.

A free ticket for the entire public transport network is provided. Great way to move around and sightsee. The ticket even allows travel to the airport and it should be used if possible. Taxi fares in this city are outrages, approx CHF 50 for the short ride to the nearby airport!
The lake and promenade are in walking distance, which provides for a lovely stroll and a magnificent panorama of the alps.

A good choice of various ethnic restaurants are to be found nearby, so late night dining is not a problem.

This hotel is recommended for your typical 2-3 day visit to Geneva.

This is a smallish design hotel located about 10-15 min walk from the train station. It is basic, clean, friendly and convenient. Good value, budget friendly, good for a couple of days stay. The breakfast and amenities are pretty basic though, and the location was just ok since it is off an alley near the train station. We were in Geneva for only one day and night, so it was perfect for us.

Very friendly and welcoming front office staff. I arrived too early for my check in time but they organised for my check in in about 30 mins and with a cup of tea while waiting. I liked the room (spacious), fast wifi, and fact that the hotel is very near the tramp. It matched my budget.

Modern almost swedish style hotel, even with good breakfast buffet. But wobbly bed that felt it would fall, and every time a guest washed or showered thought i was in the same room. thin walls, much noise, little sleep on floor four. My colleague in a different part of hotel was ok, although i had to call to make sure he got in from the train before the concierge closed in the evening. Much better hotels in geneva.

Things were pretty much as advertised with the Design Hotel F6, though I don’t think it was amazingly good value. Like so many of these “design hotels” that are sprouting up everywhere, there is a little bit of a cheap feel to the place; the furniture and fittings (more in the rooms than in the common areas) aren’t all really of high quality, and the upkeep leaves something to be desired as well, so there was some noticeable wear and tear. Still, it was clean and my room was spacious, so in general I have no major complaints. The gym is surprisingly good - one of the big positive things about this hotel - and the Nespresso machine in the room is a nice touch (though capsule refills are not free). At least from the point of view of the facilities, I’m actually surprised that this hotel had only three stars – maybe it is because there was only a shower (i.e. no bathtub), or because of the mediocrity of the breakfast buffet? The staff were very friendly and nice, unlike most other hotels in Geneva.

Still, it was not cheap. I paid about CHF 200 per night for the room (including breakfast), which is more than I had paid at other hotels in Geneva in the past. However, in Geneva, you take what you can get – hotels are all chocker block months in advance, and everything is extremely expensive, so if you find a (relatively) decent deal you need to jump at it immediately. I could easily have paid twice what I did, and not got anything significantly better.

The one thing I really didn’t like about this hotel was that the security left something to be desired. The entrance is on the lower ground floor, from where you take a lift one floor to the reception - but you can simply skip that floor and go straight to the floors with the rooms, meaning anybody can just come off the street and access these floors. The neighbourhood isn’t dodgy, but, having lived in Geneva, I knew that there was much more crime than the Swiss like people to believe, so this made me a bit uncomfortable. Still, I stayed for several nights and everything was fine (I generally tend to be very careful about leaving things lying around in hotel rooms anyway). I would happily stay here again, though if there were better deals elsewhere I wouldn’t necessarily insist on it.
