“Great value and location”
Reviewed 18 May 2013 via mobile

This is one of a new breed of hotels I like to stay in. It's budget but it's also a bit funky. Same idea as an Ibis but much, much better. The design of the room is really clever, no wasted space, useful shelves and hanging space, a good bathroom and a very comfy bed/linens. Big selling point for me, there is free wifi- as there should be in every hotel, let's face it. There are lots of shops, cafes and restaurants nearby, some surprisingly good sushi included. The train station is basically outside the door and it's also a hub or the buses and trams. I arrived with the wrong power adapter but the font desk offered me one free of charge to borrow for my stay. Little things like that make a difference. Quite, clean, friendly - this place is a great deal.

If you're looking for a slick, modern, euro hotel that's cozy and perfectly situated, this is the place. Super convenient and has all the amenities you'll need. However, the interior design is wild and unsurpassed. My room face the rear courtyard and was quiet (recommended). It was also small but that's Europe and you won't be in the room much anyway. I've been to dozens of hotels worldwide and the small boutique nature of this place sold me. Enjoy it...

Room Tip: The hotel faces a main road that may be noisy. Windows are well insulated but I'd ask for a rear...

Room is all in sky blue, looks kinda interesting. Hotel is equipped with Hair dryer, packaged soap and hair body shower. Toliet is clean, very refreshed. Like it, value for money, good location. Couldn't have ask for more.

Only down side is the MacDonald downstairs seem to have quite a few rowdy people otherwise, if you are hungry, a perfect place for a bite.

Hotel served drinks in vendor machine.
Service is fine, and friendly.

I ended up at Hotel Cristal through a last minute Trip Advisor booking but would definitely make this my hotel of choice on future trips to Geneva. It's 2 minutes from the central station under a covered arcade and is ideally placed for all city centre amenities. The room was great and cleverly thought out, with strategic mirrors and full length windows making it seem bigger than it actually was. Lovely soft duvet and pillow. The wi-fi was on the slow side but free. The room price is very competitive for a hotel of this grade. The breakfast was pricey at CHF 19, but the view from the breakfast room is great and to be honest the prices next door at Starbucks are hardly any better. This is Geneva...!

Room Tip: Both front and rear face onto quiet streets.

Loved the hotel. Very good and warm friendly service. Great funky décor in the hotel and the rooms as well. Very modern and clean and good facilities. The view from the breakfast room was wonderful overlooking the roof tops. A great location close to everything and close to the tram stops, shops and restaurants. Loved it and would recommend.

Room Tip: The higher rooms have best views!

My partner and I spent three very happy and comfortable nights (on a room-only basis) in this gem of a city-centre hotel.

Located just a few minutes walk from the main train station and the lake front, this hotel is perfect for reaching many of Geneva's main attractions. It's away from the red-light district, so you needn't feel intimidated when returning late at night. Externally it looks in far better condition than many of the other hotels in the area, which looked shabby and we're probably far less value for money

The hotel staff are polite, friendly and helpful. Our room, a double on the seventh floor was found in pristine condition, and maintained that way by the maids who never visited too early for us, a pair of late-sleepers. The room was perfectly sized, wonderfully designed, well appointed and the modern decor was a dream. From our window we had a view of the Jet d'Eau and a small square surrounded by hotels and restaurants. The room was ready for an early check in. The bed was amply sized and comfortable, and there were no noise issues whatsoever.

We paid approximately £150/night (late April, booked quite late), which we considered to be very reasonable - especially as some chain hotels were based in the seedier area and charging more.

The only negative my partner and I could come up with was that the shower wasn't quite as powerful as she'd have liked. However, that's by-the-by, all things considered.

Room Tip: Rooms on the upper floors have a view of the Jet d'Eau.

I found this hotel by accident. It sits right smack in the middle, between the red-light district and a few blocks to the geneva lake bridge, aka mont blanc st. All are walking distance. The hotel room size is small. Good for travellers that just need place to sleep. Hotel room is very clean, helpful and friendly staff I can't complain - value for money. But do not stay here if you're on your honeymoon :-)
