We booked this hotel thanks to tripadvisor's ratings and did not regret it..It is exactly as shown classic style big comfortable bed quiet and clean with excellent help from the receptionists..Ok breakfast is not encluded and costs about 25 euro a person per day so we chose to have a sandwich from the supermarket or a croissant in a cafe, but this is Geneva after all everything is pricey so we found the cost for a three night stay here reasonable payed around 375 taxes included for three night stay! The area around the hotel is not so great and has many immigrants but is not actually dangerous if you are careful with your staff..About 7 minutes walk is the lake and is also close to supermarkets and the Central train stop..

Room Tip: Ask a room on top flours is very quiet and a big bathroom too..You can either choose a smoking room...

If you're visiting the main UN agencies in Geneva, this is a good spot to stay as it's about 5 mins walk or so northwards from the Gare Cornavin (and so, easy to reach from the airport, by jumping on any train into the city centre). From the Kipling you can walk to Nations in about 15 minutes, or catch the tram straight there.

The Kipling makes a rather studied effort to inject character through its decor, which tries to evoke every dimension of life in somewhere like colonial-era Batavia. Or maybe it's meant to be Rangoon, which at least was a place that (as Wikipedia informs me) the great Rudyard did actually visit. Anyway, it makes a change from more typical Geneva hotel garb of either internationalist tedium, or jaunty china cows with Swiss flags on their sides.

My room was on the small side, but not inconveniently so and was certainly very well appointed, heavyweight linen sheets on the bed, and overall a rather nice place to be.

Breakfast was very satisfactory, including a nice bright-tasting coffee...Javanese, I suppose.

In Geneva you can easily pay a lot more, and get a lot less, than for a room at the Kipling and I couldn't find anything really not to like.

Geneva is an expensive city. This hotel provides an excellent service at a good price. It was our second stay and we paid an average of around £100 a night. Things we loved about the Kipling are the terrific location, five minutes walk from the railway station and five minutes from the lake. Reception staff are all bright and helpful. The rooms are a joy, comfortable and well-furnished. The area where the hotel is located is interesting and full of eateries and bars. We'll stay in the Kipling again when we visit Geneva to see our family here. Strongly recommended.

When I try to remember anything that disturbed me during my stay, I admit to myself that I fully enjoyed my visit and can't name such a thing. Yes, we all know that you gonna lose a few pennys when you go to Switzerland, actually it's not a few pennys, more likely, plenty of francs. While choosing a hotel I was trying not to go too Swiss but to stay at a nice place not very far from the centre anyway. So, I found this perfect solution: the price is indeed reasonable for Geneva and the location is relatively good (5 minutes walk from the Quai du Mont Blanc and the lake, as well as the main train station, if you want to get out from the city, 15 minutes walk from the historic centre). One more thing about the Pâquis area where the hotel is located, I can't call it dangerous or disturbing at night, but if you just can't stand to be around (let's call them) escort girls or some guys watching street corners, may be you should look for another location. No problem with me, actually, I must say that the streets looked rather peaceful and unusual. Sleep quality was also very good as the neigbourhood is not too noisy and the walls are not too thin.
The staff was just excellent. I must say that I was happy that Manotel was a hotel group, they just knew how to treat the client. Every staff member was polite, helpful and welcoming.
The room was spacious (I didn't even expect so much space, but that was my first time in Switzerland, so may be I'm a little bit exaggerating), clean, with a big and comfortable bed. I also enjoyed the bathroom and the bath. The Wi-Fi signal and the Internet speed were just perfect.
Can't say anything about the breakfast as I didn't try one, but we were offered a 50% discount.
I would definitely return there if I can't allow myself 5 stars right in the centre:)

Great location for us as we needed to be near the central train station and not far at all from the more touristy area, the old town, and the lake. By not far I mean 5 to 10 minutes pleasant walk. Staff were all super helpful and friendly and fulfilled requests for a quieter room happily. Breakfast lovely - as expected from a large buffet - and thematic decor (safari style!) impressed my mother who's a designer. Really nice hotel and rooms. And considering the very high cost of just about everything in Geneva this was very nice value. All in all highly recommended.

We liked our stay at this hotel. The interior decoration of the rooms is so nice. It is furnished in Indian style and you get a "luxury" feel even though this is a 3 star hotel. The room was not overlarge but we fitted in alright. The staff was really nice and helpful. The kitchenette was fully functional, though small, and was great for cooking a late meal when arriving. The hotel was located within easy walking distance of the railway station. Overall a pleasant experience and good value for money.

I spent a week in this small but very tasteful and well-run hotel. It's less than 100 m to a tram stop and perhaps 500 to the train station, so it's super fast, easy and cheap (as in free - get your voucher in the baggage claim area at the airport) to get there. Plenty of restaurants nearby, interesting neighborhoods, short walk to the lake shore and parks. Ah, but more about the hotel. I don't remember encountering such a uniformly genuinely friendly (and helpful) staff. It is now my favorite place to stay when I'm in Geneva. Doesn't have a restaurant, but you can use the restaurant and gym, in the larger Manotel facilities close by (the Royal is less than 50m away).
