Rooms a bit small but clean and nicely decorated. Great location - 25 minute walk along waterfront to city centre. Breakfasts good .... but dinner in restaurant a bit ordinary.

The hotel is clean and well maintained. The staff are friendly. The breakfast is good. The rooms are small, but have everything you need. Most importantly, the hotel is great value in a notoriously expensive city. (And I don't mean cheap -- I mean good value.) It isn't close to most restaurants, but that gives you an excuse to walk off your dinner along the lake. But location depends on where you're going -- I travel for UN-related business that takes place 15 mins walk or 5 min taxi from the hotel.

If you like to be off the beaten path, yet next to nature, this hotel has a great location for you. It is about a 5 minute walk to the nearest bus stop (bus 1 takes you downtown in 10 to 15 minutes or less) and a 10 minute walk to Lake Geneva (and a public taxi boat) through beautiful manicured gardens complete with flowers most of the year.
Eden hotel is only a block or so from the Botanical Gardens on the north (Left) side of Lake Geneva, and a couple blocks from the United Nations building, (and the Broken Chair, of course.) We found it to be quite convenient for our family. Most trips to other areas in Geneva require pasing through Cornavin station downtown. The buses that run that way come by the hotel about every ten minutes.
The restaurant was very accommodating, coming up with several items for our kids to eat that were not on the regular menu (like roasted chicken and fries) that were all delicious. The complimentary continental breakfast was a fantastic way to start our day, with a wide variety of items. From Cheese, to hot chocolate, cereal or boiled eggs, everyone in our family found something to love.
The staff at the front desk all spoke English relatively well, and always offered maps and help getting around if asked for. Loaner umbrellas made it unnecessary to have to pack our own.
For families, I recommend the top floor "junior suites." They cost more, but they offer two rooms (no door to separate them though) with separate TVs, along with a nice enclosed shower and bathroom. No bath tub. There is no balcony on these rooms. They turn off the air conditioning September 15th each year, even though it can still be quite warm and humid after that date. Beyond that, they use radiators for heat, or they open the windows (no screens) for ventilation, which can unfortunately allow pesky flies or mosquitoes in.
I was told that bathrooms in the floors below did not have enclosed showers.

We would like to thank you for taking the time to write this review. We are very glad to learn that you and your family enjoyed your stay with us.
Guests' reviews are very important to us: they help us to understand guests' needs. We learn where our services are appropriate and appreciated, and also where we can make improvements. Your review has led us to revise our air conditioning policy to match the real weather conditions rather than fixed dates. Now, in accordance with our environment policy, we will manage the function of the air conditioning on a daily basis at the beginning and end of the season. We will also install mosquito screens. Once more we thank you very much for your constructive feedback which has helped us to improve our service.

Affordable Geneva hotels are hard to find and while the Hotel Eden is on the high side for what you get, it's pretty good. I appreciated the elevator and proximity to the lake, but it's a hike to the stores (mostly by the train station). The room I had was small, though probably not unusually so for that hotel, and I did have a small balcony. The AC worked great and I appreciated the big tub. We didn't have the breakfast, so I can't comment on the food. The hotel seemed very busy and the front desk people were very responsive and friendly.

We surely enjoyed our stay. This hotel is located not very near the city centre. It's about 20 minutes walking to the centre. But you can walk along the lake Geneva. It's quite romantic.
The staff is very helpfull. The first night we had a room just above the entrance. It was noisy during the night and early hours. The next morning when we asked for another room, they gave us a better room. The beds are comfortable. The rooms are clean
Breakfast is okay, not excellent, but there are certainly enough choice.
It's simple, comfortable hotel for a good price.

The hotel is situated a little out of town but very close to the Botanical Gardens and a lovely park leading down to Lake Geneva.
Check-in was quick and the staff first class. In fact during our four night stay the staff were excellent giving advice on places to visit and which restaurants to use in the city.
The rooms were, like the rest of the hotel, exceptionally clean and reasonably well appointed although the hotel has an old fashioned atmosphere about it.
Breakfast was more than adequate with attentive staff and a wide selection of cereals, fruit, breads, hard boiled eggs, yogurt and so forth. Cooked breakfast was charge extra.
All in all we thoroughly enjoyed our stay but have two minor complaints.
The first is the lack of tea and coffee making facilities in the rooms. In this day-and-age surely this should be provided free of charge. We had to purchase tea and coffee to take up to the room and as we were on the fifth floor and with the elevator being very small the tray was difficult to manage. After the first time we decided to give it a miss on subsequent nights.
The second and more minor complaint is the fact the bar is closed very early. We returned to the hotel just before 10pm one night looking forward to a sit in the bar and a quiet glass of wine only to find the bar shut. We also noticed that the restaurant within the hotel, presumably as it only caters for the business trade, is closed on Saturday and Sunday evenings.
If the hotel management sorts out the tea and coffee making facilities instead of charging by the cup then I am sure many more customers would be happier as all in all its a nice hotel with good staff.
